Tubals show up around 7-8 weeks. I think if it were tubal, you'd still test positive. But tests can run negative for some time, especially if you drink a lot of fluids every day (while a healthy habit, the extra water dilutes the hormone so it might not show up on the stick).

When did you take the pregnancy tests? Even though they say you can get accurate results at 2 weeks, it's still very hit-or-miss. Try another one, first thing in the morning.

Regardless of your insurance situation, if it's tubal, you need to get medical care immediately, as it ectopic pregnancies are life-threatening.

Some pelvic pain can be normal in any pregnancy, as you might remember with your pregnancy with your first son. It's the uterus "figuring things out." Not every woman experiences it, or much of it. I sure did.

But get it checked out. There's too much at risk for you not to.

Call a local pregnancy clinic and see if they offer free exams. They may also refer you to a place that can help. If not, you still need to seek medical attention immediately. You should do it for yourself and especially for your baby boy. He needs you to be healthy for him.

N.,

When I had a tubal pregnancy in 2002 I did get a positive read on a pregnancy test even though I was bleeding. My period was about a week late but I was spotting; something was just not right. By the time I got past the doctor's office being closed for New Years and got in to see him I was already in the ER. The initial diagnosis was a tubal pregnancy on one of my ovaries...quite rare. After surgery they said I may have had a molar pregnancy in the fallopian tube which is unheard of. So, maybe that's something you should look into. Molar pregnancies need to be dealt with right away.

Either way, if you feel like your body is telling you to seek help, do it.

You could have an infection. Really need to get it checked out. Try planned parenthood. Not sure what all they do, but worth a phone call. I think they may do gynecological visits. Good luck.

You could go to a WIC clinic. They do free pregnancy tests. Tubal pregnancies will still show up positive. Also you could go to the health dept and get an exam for free or pretty cheap until you get health insurance. Your missed period could be stress or any number of things. Good luck!!

Please do another pregnancy test using first morning urine. The "being pregnant" hormones are more concentrated. A tubal pregnancy will give you a postive pregnancy test -- if all other instructions have been followed.

Stress can be hard on our hormones --

Also, if you're having pelvic pain and you think it may be a tubal pregnancy, then you need to go to a physician NOW! He can do a blood quantitative hCG blood test. If it is a tubal pregnancy, the tube can rupture and lots more stuff can happen to you than just a simple operation/procedure to remove the pregnancy. (I also think they now give a drug to dissolve a tubal pregnancy rather than having to remove it surgically.)

Go to your local county health department. They will give you the blood test for free since you have no insurance. Please do this today, as a tubal pregnancy can be fatal to you. Be sure to tell them everything that have been going on. If they are not able to help you, you may need to find an ob/gyn and try to work out payments of some kind.

N. I'm not sure where you are frombut where I live they have a health department and our health department is free if you don't make much and if you do they charge a small fee. You might check the town you live in and see if they have a health department. If not call your local OBGYN clinics and let them know what is going on and see if any of them will see you and put you on a payment plan so you can be seen but not have to pay a big fee up front. You do need to be checked ASAP. If it is a tubal pregnancy they are very dangerous and only a doctor can give you the help you need. Please see a doctor as soon as possible. Good Luck

Go to the doctor or your local free clinic. Most doctor's offices offer a discount for patients with no insurance if you ask. If you are pregnant, talk to your local health dept. and find out what they offer for pregnant women with no insurance. I know in Oklahoma, it's all paid for by the state if you meet the financial criteria. The most important thing is that you find out soon if you are in any danger health wise or just need to plan for a new arrival. I hope everything turns out well.

You need to call your local health department and see if they have any clinics where payment is determined by your income. Then you need to get there right away and have a BLOOD test to determine if you are pregnant. Do not put this off. If you have an ectopic pregnancy (tubal), it can be life threatening. It can be fatal to both you and the baby if not taken care of. The tube can burst and you can bleed out or have other problems. Please go to the doctor as soon as possible.

If not an ectopic pregnancy, you could still have another condition. Perhaps an ovarian cyst or PCOD or something like that.

Also, if you are under 21 and there is a local Children's Hospital near where you live, try to see if they will examine you there. Children's Hospitals are free if you can't pay.

If you've had a sudden change in routine, you should definately get in to see a doc. Try calling the referral line at OU Hosp and they can direct you to a low-cost clinic just to explain what's going on face to face and make sure everything's okay :}

Been there, done that...mine ruptured and I had to be rushed into emergency surgery. I was so dehydrated they couldn't get an IV in me. I nearly died and couldn't get pregnant again. The tube was nothing but fringe and had to be removed. I make excessive scar tissue and had so much damage that the other tube is pretty much damaged. It evidently ruptured over that weekend and I didn't get to the Doctor until Monday morning and had surgery that afternoon. I thought I was just having a miscarraige and didn't think about how serious it could be. I started having pain in my back and side a couple of days before I called the Doctor for an appointment. I was pretty sure I was pregnant but couldn't get confirmation from a test either.

Your body is getting mixed messages if you are experiencing an Ectopic pregnancy. There are some hormones getting out through the tissue but they can be very minimal. A pee test may not show positive until it is too late. They asked me if I wanted to try and move the fetus but when they got inside me it had ruptured and was too late, I don't know if that was a true question but the Doctor did ask just before surgery.

If it were me I would definitely go to the health department and ask for a pregnancy test and if that didn't work call your local hospital and ask if they have a Community Clinic. Our local hospital does but they don't advertise it because it isn't big enough, or have enough funds, to support all the uninsured in my community. Most of my town is either very well off or at poverty level or below.

Good luck, hope this works out how you want.

Good morning - if three tests turned out negative, I say its a pretty good bet you aren't pregnant. Have you thought about going to a free clinic in your area? Even if you don't qualify for a free clinic, you might be able to go to one that has descending scale fees. Please look into that - what you are experiencing could one of many things and, not being a doctor or nurse, I wouldn't dare try to tell what it might be. The very best of luck to you and God bless.

I would try just getting a blood pregnancy test first. I am not sure how much it is but I don't think it is expensive. I wouldn't wait. If it is something more you can go to uams. If it is a tubal you don't want to wait!

I'd call Planned Parenthood to try to find out if it is a tubal pregnancy. Maybe the nurses there can do a blood test. I believe they are also very cheap but I don't think they go on income, so anyone can use them, if I remember correctly. The reason I say that is because you didn't say you were low-income, you just said you had a lapse in insurance right now, and the other suggestions like WIC and the Health Department I believe are for people with lower income. But I have no idea what your income is, so try calling if you think they can help. Another thing to look at - are you on the pill? I was on the pill for years and one particular brand started giving me super-short, light periods (less than 3 days, etc.) and eventually none at all! So maybe that is it? But since you are having the pelvic pain and feeling sick I agree with the other posters about going to a dr. as soon as possible. If you ARE pregnant, OKDHS I think can help with medical insurance (Medicaid) and I believe it's different if you are pregnant - the income guidelines aren't as low, I THINK (it's been awhile since I've worked there and I forgot but it's worth checking into). But it's certainly worth calling the local health dept, DHS, Planned Parenthood, etc. to try to find low-cost health care since you are temporarily uninsured, so you can find out what might be wrong in case it's something serious. Oh, and if you live in Oklahoma, call 211 and tell them you need to see a doctor and you don't have health insurance, they may be able to refer you to the right agency to help you. They are a referral organization.

One of your other responders hit the nail on the head; a tubal would've had a positive pt, so you can rest a little easier with that. If you live in a relatively big city, there may be ob/gyns who have "free clinics" after hours. Do some calling around, and see what you can find out. If that doesn't work, call a WIC office or health department, and see what they can tell you.

Hang in there!!!

You should go get checked for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I had a friend who developed it after having her first child and had the symptoms of pregnancy, but no pregnancy, so they gave her a CAT and her ovaries were covered in cysts.
