Flying Mickey? Huh. Maybe http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Mickey-Mouse-Slide-Clubhouse... ?
No idea on the tablet, but other friends have gotten a Nabi (I think) for their young kids.
Mamas & Papas-
Can you help me figure out some Xmas gifts for my DS?
1. I'd like to get him a kid friendly tablet that comes pre-loaded with some games. Can anyone recommend something which is both hard wearing and fun?
2. I'd like to get him a starter set of legos, but a sizeable one, and preferably one which comes with a base or two and in a bucket or container. (It is raelly hard to get these online because it is hard to tell if when they give you a piece count you are getting nothing but a whole bunch of tiny pieces). Does anyone have a good set in mind?
3. Finally, he is after a "flying mickey". I have no clue what that might be.
We've got our gifts figured out. I would like a scooter. Hubs wants a new pair of skates. If we move forward with a new apartment, that will prove a great gift for all.
Thanks in advance for your help and recommendations.

My mom spoke with his teacher at pick up today. Apparently, "flying" is the latest thing in the classroom. The kids pretend that Mr. Potato Head is a flying potato, they have Mickey fly, even the horse and barn are made to fly. So good news, any old Mickey will do.
Thanks for all your tips.

A "flying Mickey" might be Mickey Mouse?? Can you ask him to elaborate??

Ice skate or in-line skates??
Legos - are tough. Now they are pre-determined sets that are sold - it's "rare" to have the box of LEGOs...

Check out cybermonday2014.com (it's what came up when I did a Google search for Cyber Monday 2014). I found a Lego set on there with a container for cheap.
Go to a Verizon store and check out their tablets. I got one for my 2 year old granddaughter after rebates it was $10. Obviously I did not put internet on it. Loaded it with lots of educational games. She loves it.
Flying monkey or Mickey, if I am right, is a little $2.00 kind of sling shot but not really a sling shot. He just flies thru the air. Google it and you should find it.
Amazon has Flying Monkey. I think that's what he means.
For Legos, go to Amazon, and search Lego Duplo Brick Box or Lego Junior Brick Box. Duplos are for kids <3, Juniors are for kids 4-7. These big plastic boxes usually have enough extra space to hold future kits & instructions.
Have him look at the circular & ads. Great to have him "see" & actually
point to what he wants.
Don't worry even if you miss "Cyber Monday", you should still find some
great deals at the regular discount stores (Ie. Walmart).
Mega blocks are great for taht age because the tiny ones are hard at that
age. (If you do get the mini blocks, just don't too many like 1,000) ;)
Google the Mickey thing. I did & there's a Mickey Fly n Slide Clubhouse
on Amazon $29.99.
Btw, when looking for Leggos (depending on your child's age), try not to
get the tiniest 1,000 pcs. Very tiny, hard to build, hard to keep track of
etc. Best of luck w/everything!
He's old enough to write a letter to Santa and to "write" he can draw pictures.
Sit beside him and watch him draw. This way you can ask him questions about the Flying Mickey as he's drawing it.
As for Lego's the box has that many bricks in the box. They have written instructions as to how to make the items on the pictures then take them apart and make other things.
I was say that Lego's are almost ALWAYS for age 8 and up because the items they are going to make are complicated. SO please consider the age on the box. The experience will be much more enjoyable if it's made for him.
As for the legos, why not buy a couple of cool sets and then buy the extra pieces at a second hand store. Try Kid to Kid or any other kid friends second hand store.
Toys R Us has free shipping with Lego purchase today and Duplo sets are 20% off. My daughter has a starter Duplo tub that is 102 pieces. It was a gift last Christmas. It has a small base, some windows, and wheeled pieces with a variety of bricks. It has been great. We also have the alphabet set and small zoo. My daughter is 3.
1) If I could, I'd go with an iPad mini and then buy an otterbox case. There are tons of free child apps you could download, and he's not going to grow out of it anytime soon because he won't think it's baby-ish once he's in school and wants to play minecraft with friends :).
2) For a random starter set of legos, I got a bunch of the MegaBloks brand. They are compatible with legos but less expensive so I could get a couple sets.
3) No solid idea, and my younger is the same age as yours I think. The only thing close I can think of is that my little one has the Mickey Mouse clubhouse Airplane that came with Mickey in it. It's basically Little People compatible.
Good luck!
Maybe it's a flying Monkey? Those ones that you fling and it screams?? In any case, those are awesome.
