The Duplos will say Duplo and the miniature ones are Modulex. Everything else is the regular size.
Bricks are just the generic name for the pieces. It doesn't indicate size (there are Duplo bricks, Lego bricks, Modulex bricks etc.).
I was trying to order some legos for my kids online. When I was a kid there was only one size. I know Duplo is large, for toddlers, and I think there is also an extra small size now (my kids got some of the extra small ones in a kid's meal). Are those the only 3 sizes? How do I know I'm getting the larger size - is that what people call "bricks?" Help! I don't want to end up with the tiny ones that I think are too small for my kids, or the duplo ones because they already have Megablocks and don't need any more of the big ones. Thanks!!

learn something new everyday. I can't even fathom Modulex bricks must be teeny tiny
If you are just trying to get a bucket of legos that can be made into anything you can just go to target and get a bucket . They have both sizes duplo and regular . You can also get something simple to make and get a small set like a City one. Have fun !
I only knew about Duplos and regular Legos. I didn't realize they made smaller ones called Modulex. Do they hurt any less when you step on them? :)
I have never run into any confusion with the Modulex (micro brick) size. They aren't even available on the Lego site, frankly I have never seen them anywhere (though I have seen another micro brick manufacturer sold locally). And Duplo is always labeled Duplo.
Did some research, looks like the Modulex line split from Lego many decades ago.
I suggest you go to the Lego's web site. They will explain about sizes as well as give you other information about sets and how to use them.
