I just found this site, not too long ago. I have really enjoyed it and it's almost like an outlet I like to read and post with downtime. I am just wondering if this is anyhting like a mommy type board where alot of you know each other-when I say know of course i mean internet username familiar with each other? Is it the type where people come and go and really aren't constant posters? Do you get to know people? Just wondering...
It's a cyber neighborhood watering hole. See the same faces at the same times every week. Come in for a drink on a different day and don't know any one in the place.

Hi My name is Libby and I am a mamapedia addict.
I have not met anyone yet from the site. but I do have quite a few of them that are close to me. We talk on a more regular basis...Just to say Hi and what not.
I have found that the regulars that are here are amazing.
Alot of us have very different views on life....but when we come to gether we can give some really great advice.
We are not without or riffs though. On any given day there can be a storm brewing. It really can get bad if there is something big in Political field going on...Or if a major world event has just happened. I know we have had heated breastfeeding debates and other parenting related riffs as well.
All around we are a great group of regulars:) You will see some more then other's. You will start to have your favorite's. It is just a matter of time:)
I recognize some of the posters and their style of answers. But so many of the user names are the same. This is the only forum that I've ever been on where they allow names to be duplicated. So sometimes I get confused about who is answering.
Yep - there are lots of regulars on here - some that I always look for their answers cause I know that they will make me chuckle! LOL ~ You will start seeing who frequents the site on a regular basis ~

I am a mamapedia addict, been here for about 3 years...I had another profile but my hubby logged me off last week not knowing i had no clue what my password was and no longer had the email i used to create it so I had to make a new one. I love this place and I have gotten to know a couple people, friended them on here and send PM's from time to time. You get to recognize certain people and it can be super fun...it can also be super irratating depending on the question and the day..lol....but this site has given me a lot of insight, recipes, good and sad stories, you name it..it's awesome!
There are a lot of regulars on here you will see them ask and answer questions frequently,there are those that mostly answer, some that mostly ask, and others that just sit back and read when a question is something they've thought about asking. It's not often that I don't recognize a name and when I don't it's usually a troll asking an outrageous question.
I know that I do get some familiar user names posting to my questions but I would say you get a lot of others too.
I have gotten to know one person from mamapedia, whom we actually email eachother but that is it. Probably others have a lot different experience.
Yup, I pretty much agree with the others...it can be a pretty fun (and addicting) place to be! I had to laugh at Libby's "identification" of being an addict...so true!
I've learned a lot through different questions that others have asked, as well as my own, but it's really fun to see the opinions and I've enjoyed finding the people who often think like me. It's nice to know you're not alone!

I am a regular. Been here for a long time. I used to read books but read Mamapedia instead now. I am pretty blunt, very passionate, mostly answer based on my experiences. You will get people that answer gently, people that are PMS'ing & people that answer based on their thoughts. There are all walks of life on here. Oh & we cannot forget 8kidsdad (Ben). Some mature, some young, & some in between. Some are married some claim to be married and some who are single. But I believe majority are here to help you but we answer in different ways. Just remember this is a forum & not for the weak. So if someone upsets you learn to grow a thick skin & you will love this place.
I have never met anyone on here, would love to meet very few. But have developed some great cyber relationships.

a lot of regulars~ but I dont personally know anyone face to face or communicate with any of them other then on Mammapedia.
There are a lot of great people here and some not so much, but those are usally very unhappy people or trolls. Trolls are people who post comments or entire posts looking to stir the fire (so to speak)
I have also noticed this sites will allow duplicate names...kinds freaked me out I used to be momof2girls then I seen a response and I said Wow i so did not right that ( not that I disagreed with what she said but ;-) )so I changed mine to momof2girlygirls
Hi! I have been on here since I was pregnant with my 4.5 year old. I used it a lot then as I was a new mom and trying to figure things out! After I returned to work when my son was 3 months I'd check mainly on weekends. Then my son started going through some medical issues so would get on here more and more.......then when my 1.5 year old was nursing I had a ton of questions and since having her I check throughout the day at work to see if I can provide anyone else help! I think many use it like I do = as support, guidance, and knowledge.....some use it as more of a social site, and some trolls (as others mentioned) use it to be a pain in our A$$!!!! I think most are here to help and provide support.
