I have a ct scan scheduled for saturdat of my abdoman and pelvic area with and without contrast, and i started my period today. will i need to reschedule the ct scan or will it be fine?
You will be fine. Ask but I have had them while I had my period. They only ask if you are pregnant.
You will be fine. However, I wouldn't wear a tampon!! lol!! But to feel better, just call and ask. This happened to me and everyone was very nice and understanding about it. I told them I was wearing a pad and they're like, that's ok!

Go ahead with CT scan, your period will not be a problem, but like someone else said, don't wear a tampon.

I would call and make sure it is ok. Since they are doing your abdomen and pelvic area they might now want you to be. It might not show as clear. But I am not a dr.
I would call and ask. A CT scan cost between $1000-$2000. I surely wouldn't want one done and find out it has to be redone.

a tampon would show up, I don't know if it would obstruct the veiw of what ever they are looking at or not????
You are allowed to wear clothes that do not have zippers or buttons or anything metal in the pockets. Wearing a pad should not be a problem. I was told to wear panties and sweat pants. The CT rays go thru the clothes. For that reason I suspect that even a tampon would be OK but I would call and ask to be sure.
You'll be fine. Unless they're pushing the dye into your uterus (and even then), I don't see why this would even be an issue.
