Creative Way to Frame

Hi Creative Mamas!

I have two things I would like to frame, and I could use some ideas from those who are creative and crafty as to how I could do it.

The first thing I have is 7 pictures that are in a strip format from a picture booth. My husband and I went to a wedding that had a picture booth so we took some fun pics. They are in black and white, and one strip has 4 pics and the other strip has 3 pics. I want to hang this in our bedroom for the sentiment and the romance...

The second thing I have are two Texas license plates that say "Cheer." The colors are red, white and navy. I thought it would be fun to put them in my girls' playroom, but I need a cute way to display them where they cannot get their hands on them and possibly hurt themselves on the metal...

Thank you so much for offering your creative talents and energies to help me!

God's Grace to you!

Lisa :)

Hi Lisa,
I think I might be able to help you! I am a photographer in McKinney and I sell custom frames from The Organic Bloom. They have custom sizes, at no additional charge. You could hang the license plates on the wall with frames around them, just take the backing out. The strips could be placed on a mat and then also framed. I would love to help you and hope I hear from you soon!

According to how much you can spend, I would go have the photo booth photos blown up to 5x7s and hang them in a grouping. What a fun sentimental thing to have!

I hung license plates on my son's wall as-is with just straight pins (which are much stronger than you think!) Can you hang them high enough so that little hands won't touch? (My son is older, so not a concern.) And straight pins are so thin that they won't leave a mark if you move or completely take down the hangings.

For the license plate, I would hang it directly on the wall and hang a glassless fun frame around it.

For the strip pictures why don't you find those little frames that are used for school pictures. They have them individual or in strips. I think the individual would be fun to arrange in some pattern.

So far as the plates go I would just put clear plastic tape around the edges and just hang them as is.

I am completely in love with the 3M products for hanging pictures at the moment. You could use the ones for posters to hang the license plates and they would be flush with the wall. That and if you realize the placing isn't good because of little fingers you can move them easily.

At a craft show I bought a magnetic memo board covered with fabric that hangs with a ribbon. I am using it to display a group of 4 family pictures right now and I think it looks cuter than having them in a frame. That would be a fun way to display the photo booth pics.

I would probably get a matted 11x14 (is that the next size up from 10x12) frame.

I would do maybe a black frame, white matte. Then get a cute scrapbook paper, maybe black and white damask print or something and put the two strips side by side on the paper and frame it.

For the license plate, I would likely do the same thing, just get a larger frame (may need to get a shadow box) for them to fit, probably no matte. Get a cute scrapbook paper for the background and hot glue the plates on the paper. Hot glue will peel right off when you want to remove it.

On the license plates, take some pretty matching ribbon and tie it through the holes on the plates to make a hanger to hang them on the wall. If you put them up high enough, they should be safe. For the picture strips, I would mount them on some scrapbook paper and add some fun, appropriate stickers or decorations and hang them in a frame.
