The shark is available at Costco and is amazing. Lightweight and picks up everything. I don't know how I lived without it!
Hi moms,
In addition to an almost 3 year old and almost 1 year old, we have 2 cats and just adopted a LARGE lab/newfoundland mix dog. He sheds like crazy!!! Since my kids are always rolling around on the ground, i try to vacuum as often as possible but even once a day is just not enough :0( I want to buy a cordless sweeper that i can just pull out of the closet, whip around the downstairs area (carpet and tile), and be done with it. Can any of you recommend a sweeper you have found great for carpet and tile, picking up pet fur along the edges of the room or under cabinets, picking up kid crumbs, etc.
Thanks for your time!!!

I like the swivel sweeper. It's lightweight and easy to clean. It works on floors the best You can use a coupon and get them at bed bath and beyond.
Hi M.,
I have the Shark sweeper. It is ok for picking what you see on the floor. I am not impressed when I use it on carpet. It feels like it is only picking up a the surface. I am still in the market of finding something better. I read a lot of reviews on the Wind Tunnel cordless. I heard it picks up great, deep into the carpet. They sell it at Target and it is 200.00 dollars.
Hope this helps.

I don;t know about cordless vacumes but I do know that when you have a shedder you have to brush them regularly. At least once a week if not 2 and that will help tremendously. In the summer even though it looks funny we have our dog buzzed. They feel so much better and the shedding is basically gone. We have an alaskan malmouth and when her coat is grown in it is super thick and 4 inches long! When we don;t stay on top of brushing her esp. when her coast is in there is fur everywhere. If you do shave your dog I reccommend having someone else do it the first time eash season ans then you can "maintain" it every couple weeks. Good luck!
I don't know about the sweeper...but I have read on the flylady.net web site about the rubba-scrubba being used to brush the shedding type dogs really good & because the brush catches so much hair, the house isn't as covered in dog hair...& that the dogs enjoy the brushing too. good luck...
We have the swivel (sp?) sweeper. The one that is advertised on TV? Well I found one at Target and bought it just to try. I love it!! It is great on hard floors (tile, laminate etc) and is pretty good on rugs/couch. I really haven't tried on carpet since the main area that gets so dirty is the tile area and a couple of rugs. I would highly recommend. At least you can buy it and try it out, if it doesn't work for you I am sure you can return to Target and explain that you tried it out but it didn't work for you. Good luck with the wonderful family of children and pets!
