Has anyone used the Dirt Devil Broom Vac. Does it really sweep clean on laminate/wood foors? Or does it blow the dirt everywhere causing more mess?
thanks

I bought one of these after we moved into our new house. I use it regularly, but I don't LOVE it. It doesn't pick up all that well. It doesn't get under the edges of the counters. It doesn't work like a Shark or other cordless vac--it's really designed to have you use a broom to sweep your dirt into piles and then use the BroomVac to sweep up that dirt pile.

My cordless Shark and Swivel Sweeper both worked better than this. I just simply wore both of them out over the course of several years. If I had a "do over" on this purchase, I'd get another Shark or Swivel Sweeper to do the tiled areas of my home.

I don't know about the Dirt Devil but I LOVE my Swiffer Vac. My house is all ceramic tile except the bedrooms so I use it a LOT. The drawbacks are that I sometimes run out of charge before I'm quite done and I had a motor burn out on one after about a year and a half but I have 2 dogs so all that dog hair is hard on it and I think some of it might have escaped into the motor. Also, you have to buy the Swiffer pads but I used the generic and they work just fine for half the price. The vac only cost 25-30 and you can go to the Swiffer website and get a coupon. Another tip- you can buy replacement filters but the filters also rinse and dry quite well. I have 2 just so I can have one to use while the other one dries.

I had always used the Swiffer vac and it worked well and cleaned at the same time. You do, however get what you pay for but I was happy with that one when I could not make my mind up on any other one.

My mother gave me the Dirt Devil Broom Vac as a gift when they first came out YEARS ago after we bought our first house. I would NOT recommend it. I don't know if they've changed significantly since then, but from what I've seen in the commercials, they still look the same to me. It doesn't pick up well and it's very rigid. It's hard to get under cabinets as another mom mentioned and I just would not recommend it to anyone. I used it several times, hoping it would get better over time (LOL), but always ended up having to use my old broom and dust pan in the end.

I haven't used one but I have a swifter vac. It was only $30 and works great on my wood floors.

I have a little lightweight (blue) Bisssell electric from Home Depot for $20 and it is fantastic on my tile and wood. I run it everyday. The only drawback I have is that you have to empty it after every use. That is a minor drawback as far as I am concerned.

The reason I went with the Bessell vs the Dirt Devil is that I felt like the electric would be a little more powerful vs the charged one. I have Sharp that stays on a charger and it will only run aobut 2 minutes before it quits.

Good luck!
