This is a new recipe for us, that my husband really seemed to like. He bought some fancier chocolate chips(Guittard 63% extra dark chocolate) and wanted a better recipe to put them in. It's a half recipe so we could test it out, using only 1 egg and 1 stick of butter.
1 1/8 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tablespoons cocoa
1 softened stick of unsalted butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
1/2 cup walnuts
1/2 cup plus 1/3 cup chocolate chips
We mixed the sugar, butter, egg, vanilla in the mixer, then added the flour mixture, then the nuts and chocolate chips last. Then they baked at 350 for about 12 minutes. I use an air-insulated pan so that they don't burn on the bottom.
