:) It's perfectly fine to do.
Does anyone know if there are dangers associates with converting a crib to a toddler bed, then converting it back to a crib? My husband wants to save money and not buy a new toddler bed until the next baby comes, but I am not sure about the safety of switching back and forth. Can't find anything on the internet!! Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated!
Thanks so much to everyone who responded, it really helped! I took Christy's advice and dug up the instructions for installation and it did specifically say that the bed was not intended to be converted back - only forward. While reading that, we also noticed that our son was only 1 inch away from the recommended height limit for that mattress/bed!!! So, no need to convert to a toddler bed for, what, 2 days?! We decided to go with a twin bed instead. Two nights now, and he is sleeping in it okay though it takes about an hour and a half to get him to sleep. Just another adventure in baby-land! Thanks again pals.

By all means save yourself the money!!!! I ahve done it and my daughters bed has been converted for a neice and for a friend, so we have converted hers for 4 times and back again!!!!
We love our convertible crib bed. Our 4 year toddler was excited to get a new "train" bed and loved helping us make his bed into a crib for his new brother. We have used it for the baby for a year and its as sturdy and wonderful as it was for our four year old. It saved us having to get another crib and we have had no dangers or problems at all. We did have to get big brother a new bed, but you can find them reasonable at garage sales, and childrens new/used stores if you don't want to buy a new one.
Actually, it depends on the brand etc... If you check the instructions, some will tell you NOT to convert it back. I'd check with the company to make sure and be on the safe side. If anything, just buy another crib like it and you'll have a toddler bed etc for the new baby... I got mine that has a changing table attached at Wal-Mart for about $200 it's made by Simplicity... Definately check the instructions though and check with the company....
These beds are made to convert back & forth, as a money saving option for parents. There shouldn't be any dangers associated with this. Just make sure you have every part secured tightly. :)

There's no problems with mine that I know of. I've had a 4 in one since my first and it's now on my fourth. That's the reason I got it was I didn't want to invest a lot of money into a bunch of different furniture. Our crib's turned into a toddler bed and back just fine.
We got a nice one, not as expensive as you can get, we paid $300 or $350 for it. And I would definitely say we've gotten our money out of it thus far with more use to come as my son gets older.
Hope this helps you.
I can't think why you couldn't, unless it's just that you can't get the toddler to give it up, heh. I know I'd love to stick my 5yr-old back in his crib sometimes! :P
