Constant Nose Picker

I use to tell our son to stop and he would do it more while smiling to irritate me but I noticed our daycare lady would hand him a tissue and he would stop and blow his nose. So I just started handing him tissues and that seemed to work. Occasionally when he is extra "sassy" he throws it back to me (mostly in the car) but for the most part he gets the picture.

His nose is probably bugging him. Does he have allergies? Maybe you can try some nasal saline and see if that helps or a decongestant.

Definietly get the saline spray. In the meantime, offer lots of tissues, keep his nails really short ( to help scratching the inside of his nose and catching boogers!) and send hom to the wash his hands bunches and bunches. If he realizes he has to stop what he is doing to go wash after digging in his nose, he'll evenutally stop. It's a tough habit to break.

I knew a lady whose daughter had stuck a lego man's little yellow hand up her nose and got it stuck there. The poor kid spent a week trying to pick it out and finally confided there was something stuck inside her nose. When the child's daddy used tweezers and finally got the lego part out, the 4 year old sighed and confessed she had been trying to pick her nose with the lego man's hand and it had gotten stuck!
