My son has Down syndrome and I'm thinking of putting him in private Kindergarten for a year before sending him to public Kindergarten. We live in Plano and I have been looking into A Plus Prep School. Does anyone have any insider knowledge about this place? Good and bad feedback would be most appreciated!

Hi R.,

I have twin daughters who attend A+, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the school. We tried other preschools for our girls (including the very expensive Creme de la Creme), and A+ beats them all! The staff is very diverse, and they are focused on providing both love and care for your child as well as a good solid focus on teaching your child all the basics.

By the way, I am a graduate of TWU's MOT program, so I wish you good luck as you continue the program.

If you should need any further info, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Hi, I don't know anything about A+ but when I saw your post, I look up their website. I have 5yo daughter w/ developmental delays. I am not sure if she will be ready for regular kindergarten next year or not. I did not see anything specifically regarding catering to kids w/ special needs. Did I miss something? I would appreciate any info you get and would not mind sharing! Thanks so much!

Hi R.,
My name is S. and I have a 3 yr old son with autism. I read your request. I am new to Plano and I am also looking for a school for my son. He will be in Pre-K and I need to find a good PPCD program for him as well as after school care until I get off work. I am attending graduate school at Argosy University in Dallas at night and I need evening care for him 2 nights a week. I am in need of some advise also. Please let me know if you receive any referrals or advice and I will definitely do the same! And if you are available or know someone else who you would recommend for childcare or pre-k, please let me know! I don't know anyone in the area and I am completely in the dark about where to start. Thanks for your help!

Do you have any experience with Autistic children? One of my very good friends has a son with autism. If you're open, I'd like to pass your name and number on to her as I know it's difficult for her to find sitters who can stay with her kids. Thanks!
