D., I just heard about a company in Carol Stream that does the recycling of these. It was at the library, so if you decide to recycle, call the library and ask about it.
If you want to donate it, you could call The People's Resource Center in Wheaton. They have computer training classes there to help people get jobs and they might want it. That facility can take clothes and books as well. They use the books for kids who visit with their parents and to help the people in the English as a second language class. They also take food and last time we volunteered there, they were really running low.
