Clothes - McKinney,TX

Sears sells Lands End. Today, I bought my girls a ton of clothes there. For every $75 you spend, they are taking off $20. Plus everything was already 40% off. These are for the new spring line, not old winter things. I got $80 off, plus whatever the 40% already was. I saved a bundle! And, their clothes are guaranteed for life. If they wear out, take them back and you get a full refund. I also bought new shoes for them from Lands End online. They don't sell them in the store, but you can buy them online at the store-no shipping fee, and the same $20 off of every $75 you spend. The 40% off sales were not on the online items, only in the store. My girls are set for all summer now, I'm so excited.

It depends where are are wanting to shop? Do all 4 of them need all new wardrobes? Underwear, socks, and shoes too?

If you are going to be shopping at Abercrombie and Gap Kids you will need $2,000-$3,000 I'd say.

If you are going to shop at Kohls, Target, or Wal-Mart I bet you could get by for under $800 for all 4 of them if you shop the sales well.

Or you could shop consignment shops and buy gently used kids clothes. Once Upon A Child, or stores like that. It is also yard sale season- sometimes you can find great things.

T., i mean this in the gentlest and friendliest of ways, but has something changed in your life? Your questions seem to be indicate a lack of child/family experience which you should have if your oldest child is 13. Are you now parenting alone when someone else was doing it with you? The kids should have at least two summer-weight outfits, 3 pairs of underwear, one set of pyjamas, a swimsuit, one sweater for cooler days/evenings, preferably two pairs of shoes (i would get a pair of sneakers and flip/flops or sandals). Check out an inexpensive department store, and remember it is OK for kids to wear hand-me-downs. Ask as many questions as you need to. :)

If you dont have any hand me downs from one child to another it could be very expensive to buy for four children. I buy clothes for my youngest at thrift stores. at that age kids outgrow clothes without wearing them out. (you may not find much for your older kids there but you could out fit the 4 year old completely and only need to buy socks and underwear at Walmart.)Your oldest might like clothes from TJ Max, Ross's and Marshalls

Depends on where you shop, say Penneys VS Walmart. It will cost hundreds more at higher prided stores and a lot less at places like Walmart.

For instance, Lucky Jeans can cost a hundred for each pair at someplace like the Wooden Nickel or other shops like that. But store brand jeans only cost about $15 at Walmart.

Are there any clothes from the older ones taht would fit the younger ones? I know it's nice to get new things, but if the other ones are good, you could just add a few things and not spend too much. When my kids were little we never worried about name brands or anything like that. When they got old enough for it to be something they cared about we would kind of cheat. Like, get a pair of Starter shorts at WalMart and a Nike shirt off of the sale rack at Penney's. We mixed stuff all of the time and the kids looked great on the cheap. Also, when my daughter was about the age of your oldest, I taught her a good shopping trick. We would go to the expensive stores and pick out outfits that she really liked. Sometime we even took pictures on the digital camera or phone and then went to the less expensive stores and created copy cat looks. She has become really good at it and had lots of votes for best dressed at school this year. If they only knew she was walking around in $7 outfits!

Do you have outlet shops near you? I buy a lot of my kid's clothes @ the Carter's and OshKosh outlets. You can print out coupons from their website and save even more. I often get things for less than I would spend @ Walmart, and the clothes typically hold up a little better.
To get the most for my $, I
-shop alone because I can't focus if I have to keep an eye on little ones or if my older ones are constantly asking how much longer they have to endure waiting for me.
-bring coupons and a calculator, so I can easily figure out what things are starting to add up to
-bring a paper that has all the weights, heights, and shoe sizes of all my kids (sometimes I'm not sure what size they need because stores seem to run differently)
-bring a list so I don't buy more than I need or forget to buy something

I also shop @ Children's Place- they can have good sales too. You can also get a coupon from their website.

I highly recommend shopping for children's clothing at resale shops such as Once Upon A Child and Kid To Kid. It is just silly to spend alot on kids' clothes when they outgrow them so quickly. You can find great clothing at resale shops for excellent prices. Often the clothes will be brand-new, never worn, and with the original tags still on them. I can usually even get Ralph Lauren, Laura Ashley, and other designer brands at these stores. I would also check Macy's and JCPenney's and Kohl's. You can find amazing prices on clearance clothes. With kids that age I would say find some thrift stores. I know some kids don't like them but you can find some good stuff. Or like good will. A lot of times that's where I will get their summer cloths. Kids grow out of their cloths so fast that they don't usually have time to wear them out except boys with their pants and shoes maybe.

Strange question if in fact you have raised these children and not recently just started providing for them. Grab a cart throw in some shorts, jeans, shirts, a swim suit and if you need more then go back. Kind of like packing a suitcase...

How much money you need depends on where you shop. You can ask for clothes at freecycle.org. Also, thrift stores, garage sales (I've gotten some fabulous things at garage sales. Almost new and never more than $1), and craigslist. Outlet stores are good. Many of them will have some great sales for Memorial weekend. My younger kids don't get new clothes, except for maybe one nice outfit. They are just too hard on clothes. My oldest gets more new things, but even those are bought on sale. He also gets a lot more say in what is purchased. I let him know what the budget is and let him make his own choices.

There is a moving consignment sale called "Just Between Friends" that I use and it is amazing. I know McKinney had one back in March and another coming in Sept so check the website for more info. they just move the dots on clearance at Bealls Outlet. I just got 3 dresses for $13. one was only $1. i'd check there also. i would buy basic colored shorts and shirts that way you can switch them up. i would buy depending on how often you wash clothes. maybe 4-5 shirts/shorts a piece. and the cost depends on where you buy the clothes. walmart has shirts/shorts for $3-4/piece depending on size.

I am wondering the same thing Janie L. asked. If you are needing a whole new wardrobe for all 4 kids, you may also consider shopping the sale racks for their winter items, if you will need them. If you don't have a lot of money, I would say shop the thrift stores. And, they should wear hand me downs. Also, you can check craigslist. I've seen people advertise a whole bag of clothes for one price. Comes out to $1 a piece.

I bought a lot of clothes for my kids at Old Navy. They have sales all the time, and you can get things really cheap. You could buy quite a few things for 4 kids for $100 each.

do the pants still fit the waist? If yes I would hem them out and make shorts. Shirts are rather cheap at goodwill.
