S.-My heart goes out to you....like you, my husband and I had a lot of trouble conceiving and the first medication I was prescribed was Clomid. It was a long time ago, however, I do not remember too many problems besides possibly being a little more emotional than normal. As I said, this was the first in the process. It took us 3 years to conceive (and I had an ectopic pregnancy in the process as well---this happens often when you are taking a lot of these meds). Please do not give up the faith and just know that, if and when the time is right, you will be blessed. Keep a positive attitude and be patient---it is a very long process. It is also well worth the wait (we have two boys, 12 and 9). I won't bore you with the full details of all we went through, but, if you need any support or do have further questions, please do not hesitate to send me a personal message. In our three year process, we experienced and went through a lot!!! Keep the faith!! E..

It's just another option that you may or may not want to look at. If you are interested, but uncomfortable with traditional chiropractic please check out www.gateway2wellness.com. This is a very gentle technique.
I took this med. years ago and it worked for me. At the time I took it I was 27 years old. That was a long time ago but after the fourth month I guess things were working correctly cause I did conceive. I do vaguely remember hot flash feelings and my husband said I was very crabby. I think you can only take it for three months though and they stop it and they check your blood pressure etc. while you take it.
Hi S., I took Clomid for a month a few years ago prior to having artificial insemination. The only side effect I had were a few hot flashes. Hopefully your doctor will be monitoring your ovaries via ultrasound while you are taking it. I was in the doctor's office almost daily so he could monitor them as they could get overstimulated from the Clomid. Good luck!
I took clomid 5 times. The 5th time, it worked. I have a healthy boy, 2 1/2. The clomid did not bother me at all, everyone is different. Some people can expect large cycts on the ovaries that can cause pain. Did they tell you what your fertility issues are? I am currently seeing a fertility doctor, we want another baby.
Clomid??? Expect to get pregnant. It helps fertility and plays big time with your hormones! It has been a long time since I took it. An EXCELLENT doctor for infertility is Dr. Kenneth Gelman. I have seen several and he is by far the best I have EVER dealt with! Good luck to you.
Hi S.,
I've taken Clomid for 3 months before I got pregnant of my first child. For the second one, I've taken just for 1 month. My doctor used to say that the only negative issue about Clomid is that you might have twins :)
Please let me know if I can help you any further!!

I'm 34 and was a fertility patient on clomid on and off for about 4 years. I was moody and gained a little weight. We did 3 unsuccessful inseminations. The last round of clomid that I did overstimulated my ovaries and the eggs developed but didn't release. They turned into cysts and I had to have them surgically removed. While taking a month off to recuperate, we got a phone call about a baby who was due to be born in three months. Did we want to adopt her? So we got her when she was 2 days old. On her first b-day we found out we were naturally pregnant with our son and on his first b-day we found out we were pregnant again with son #2. Now my children are 5, 4 & 2. I am currently 4 months pregnant with a baby boy as a surrogate mother. I have stayed involved with the infertility community, as it's very near to my heart.
Get lots of support, because a lot of people suffer depression with fertility issues. Ask lots of questions too.
Feel free to write to me if you'd like.

I took Clomid and we got pregant in month two. I expeirenced no side effects and was thrilled with the results. Just make sure that you take it exactly when you're supposed to and then let nature take its course. Good luck!
Hi S.!
I also took Chlomid and conceived. I was trying for 7 yrs and was unable to conceive. I went to so many doctors and all they did was put me on birth control pills which made no sense to me until I found the best doctor in the world @ the CLEVELAND CLINIC in Weston. Dr. Maria Diaz. She's the best. She found out that I wasn't ovulating and prescribed Chlomid and in two months I conceived to my beautiful 2 yr. old daughter.
I had no side effects. If I can remember I think you take Chlomid for 3-5 days.
I took it too for 2 months, and I concieved after the 2nd month. no problem what so ever
I took Clomid for my first son with no help and ended up needing hormone injections. It didn't work the next time either and had to try IVF, everyone is different though. Did they say what your fertility issues were? As far as side effects I didn't have any. Good luck with it all!
S.,
I used Clomid to get pregnant with my son. It took about six months total on the drug and my obgyn had to keep adjusting the dosage until we got it right. It is really not safe to take it for more than 6 months. If we had not gotten pregnant the last month I probably would have looked into another course of action. Be aware, there are awful side effects such as migraines, mood swings and ovarian cysts. We are trying to conceive again, and will definitely use Clomid again. Unfortanately i turn into a crazy moody person, but my beautiful son was worth it all.
