Cleaning Wood Floors - Houston, TX

I have tried many different things to get my wood floors looking clean and without streaks, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions? Someone suggested I get a swiffer- I looked at them at the grocery store and there's several different types. Sounds simple- but I got overwhelmed (plus the baby was fussing and spitting up) so I just left. If you use a swiffer on your wood floors- has it worked? What kind? Any other mops/cleaners that do wonders for you?
Thanks in advance!

I use Zep Hardwood & Laminate floor cleaner. I can only find it at Home Depot. I use it with O'Cedar's mop (It is rectangular in shape with a terry cloth cover on it that can be washed after every use) They have this mop at WalMart.
I used to use every product, but the man who installed my hardwood floors recommended Zep.
You just spray it on, mop and it dries almost instantly with NO STREAKS !! It smells nice, too.

Hope this helps

Swiffers are expensive, bad for the environment, and leave streaks. Best cleaner out there is Murphys oil soap. It comes premixed and you can use it with a microfiber cloth (I think Method and Orange Glo both sell kits).
I also use a Bissell steam mop to get my floors extra clean without any chemicals.

I just recently bought a Bissell Steam Mop and it works great on the wood floors. I did have the OrangeGlo hardwood cleaner and it was OK, I just found the plastic cloth mop thing that came with it to be kind of flimsy and hard to use.

Good Luck,
K.

I'm an independent demonstrator with Gold Canyon and we have a new cleaning products line that is great on hardwood floors.

Our Homeology is plant-derived green cleaning. It contains no ammonia, no chlorine, no phosphate and no artificial dyes. They are biodegradable, non-toxic with ingredients that come from natural sources and have not been tested on animals. They are safe for children and pets.

It's Lavender Eucalyptus Sweet Orange that smells great. All you do is point, shoot and mop.
