Cleaning the Boys Bathroom - They Cleaned It on Their Own!! UPDATE

Yuck yuck yuck and yuck. Our office is inbetween building cleaners right now. We have a boys restroom and a girls restroom (single units) and we are a small office with 10 people (3 girls and 7 boys), I went to the store and bought bathroom cleaners so we can clean our own until we hire new cleaners. The boys bathroom in 2 weeks has become nasty and gross - disgusting! I went ahead and cleaned the girls restroom and thought nothing of it. But I do not want to clean the boys. Really - when I say it is gross... it is. There literally is feces everywhere on the toilet!!!!! - who does this! No one wants to suck it up and clean it.

Would you suck it up and just do it - or since it is the boys bathroom and they have allowed it to get this gross hold out and see if they clean it?

What can I do next?

Are you talking about men and women or children? I'm confused because you say it's an office but there are boys and girls there?
Anyway, I wouldn't TOUCH the mens/boys room unless it was required by LAW. Gross!!!

neither. apparently the 'boys' (maybe if you call them 'men' they won't expect you to mommy them?) have a high tolerance for disgustingness. either TELL them to clean it, or have them pitch in and hire someone to do it.
and please- stop using the term 'suck it up' when you're talking about cleaning up s**t!

I think if they want to wallow in their own filth let them. You aren't their mommy! They are grown men and can figure it out. They can all throw in 10 bucks for a maid if they really cant figure it out. Honestly they are probably just waiting for you girls to do it!!

I would take the cleaning supplies to the HEAD boy and ask him to designate a BOY cleaner. If you paid for the cleaning supplies, I would ask to be reimbursed. If they want to live like pigs, that's up to them, but what if you have a client come into your office and they have to use the BOY's room?

You could also tell your boss, you will clean the BOY's room for $100.00.

Keep us posted.

You own the business? Maybe.

Not your business? No way!
(O. of them will eventually get to their tolerance level and do it.)

Until then--stop looking in there!

Hi sam-

Gross...gross...lol

I would post a schedule and just 'assign' each 'boy' a date that is theirs to clean...Same for the 'girls'.

I would also be searching VERY HARD for a new cleaning service...

When I made my boys clean their own bathroom, it became much cleaner. They seemed to take more 'care' with their aim etc when it became their job...

Best Luck!

It's time to have a required cleaning rotation schedule for both bathrooms. Boys do theirs, girls do theirs... daily wipedown, and then a deep cleaning once a week or so.

For the men's since it's gotten so bad, then they should ALL pitch in the first time and clean it together. Then the clean guys can put some pressure on the nasty guys to straighten up.

And even though it's tempting to not clean it up for now, it has to be done to because it is a health issue.

I subbed for my friend a few times for their cleaning service. We cleaned a few bread factories bathrooms over a months time. I can tell you HORROR stories of those bathrooms.

I am with One and Done!!! If it's your Business Or you are the boss then yes. Or if that is the case you have the athority to ask the guys to do it. Boys are nasty I share a bathroom with three of them at home and hate it.
If it's not your business Or you are not the boss then no let them do it. They are the ones that have to deal with it.

Good Luck and God Bless!

Being female, I wouldn't worry about the boys bathroom. They got it that way, they can clean it (or not - their choice)! Gross!!!!!!

I would talk to the HR person--it's their job to make sure that these things are taken care of, and frankly, if they are making sure that the cleaning people are hired, then they need to do it themselves (IMO). Calmly bring to the HR's attention that the men's room is unsanitary, possibly a health hazard.

I would make it a condition of employment that they have to clean up their own sh*t - literally - LOL.

Few options I guess:
If you have asked and or told them that they need to clean up the restroom and they haven't I would do it again with a firmer tone (unless you own the building) .
If you haven't asked and are expecting them to clean it - ask.:)
If you know the cleaning crew is to be hired soon, let them do it.
Call a temporary cleaning service to come in and tackle it.

EWW good luck!

Is this your office ( owner?) if not then no I wouldn't clean the mens room. If it is... then yes I would say its your job until a new cleaning service is hired. When they are hired I would make sure the pay is worth their time knowing what they have to deal with! Yuck...
