Hello, I have a 23 mth old and I can't find any programs in the York area for her. I am looking for part time nursery school, dance lessons, sports anything. I would also like to find something where I can drop her off. She has been staying with her grand parents while I am at work so she does not get the interaction with kids that I would like. I am hoping to find something that they can take her to during the day so she can be around kids her age.
Thanks for the help.

What can I do next?

Normally, I would recommend logging onto momsclub.org & joining your local chapter of MOMS, but since you're a working mom & your kids spend the bulk of the time (it sounds like) with the grandparents, I'm not sure how that would work. I do not know of any local preschools, although as my son prepares for kindergarten in a few weeks, I find myself wishing that I could do something similar to what you're talking about. My church (Bible Baptist) has a super Christian school, but it doesn't start until K-4. However, one of the companies that they buy a lot of curriculum from, A Beka Book (based in Pensacola, Florida) has a nursery program series, that you might want to look into for her, if you're looking for things to do that grandma & grandpa can do with her (or you when you have time). www.abeka.com is their website. If you go to the website, there are several ways to search the site listed on the left side, and each has a drop-down menu. Click on grade to drop-down that menu & then click on nursery to view all of the items that they have. I will let you know that they are unashamedly Christian in their teaching viewpoint. I do not know if/how much that is incorporated in the art & crafts, etc. However, they do have Bible story flash-a-cards, memory cards, a Bible song CD, etc. There are lots of things to choose from, and the average price is around $10 per item, which is certainly a minimal investment IMO as a teacher. Hope this information helps you. Have a great weekend with your little ones!

my daughter is almost 25 months old (and i have 3 1/2 month old) and i'm also looking for a daycare/preschool as well. i feel so guilty that i haven't given enough of my attention to the baby because i've been dealing with my toddler. she's so bored at home with me and i feel like she could definitely use some interaction with kids her age. i would love some suggestions also.

i'm not sure where in york you live, but i live in dover and i went to robin's nest daycare/preschool so far for a tour. it was just ok. i also thought about the montessori school, but that's on the back burner for now. the tuition is not that bad if you compare it to how much you would pay for daycare (about 120/wk for part time). for part time (3 days/wk, 3 hours/day) at the montessori school, it's about 3400 for 8 months.

sorry i couldn't be of more help. if you find a place, let us know and good luck!

My daughter will be 2 next month and I am searching for the same thing right now....The Montessorri School in Jacobus Pa, starts out at 18mos but are out of my price range right now and most other church affiliated nursery school programs i have called dont start them out until 3 and potty trained(which im far from that at this point.lol.) You could also look into Gymboree classes, they have that for the 2's and have classes all over.

good luck,
