Hello, moms!
I want to find a neighborhood Christmas light display to drive to with my family. My husband loves to look at lights, and we have a two-year-old and a three-month-old (who really hates the cold). Any suggestions?
BTW: We live in Clayton, and anything within about 20 minutes would be great. I don't want to drive an hour to look at lights!
Oh yeah...St.Louis Hills, baby!!
And you can stop for Ted Drewes, too.
The 6500 block of Murdoch is a real fun block, tons of lights, and 6600 block of Itaska.Just drive all around Frances park and enjoy the pretty houses. I LOVE this part of the city!!

About a half mile west of 270 on Ladue, there is a home on the corner of Ladue and Ladue Pines, I think, that has a fantastic display, and it is set to music! You can tune your car stereo to 95.1 and the lights flash in sync with a variety of Christmas songs. My kids love it, we go several times each year. It is also a drop off point for Toys for Tots. I highly recommend this house. We can spend 30-40 minutes there at a time!

My own neighborhood, Lafayette Square, has beautiful mansions around the park, many with gorgeous light, and some with 3 Christmas trees in the windows - one on each foor!
You could also get ice cream or hot cocoa there, too, at Soda Fountain Square, Park and 18th St. From Clayton, take Forest Park Parkway to Grand, rt on Grand, L on Chouteau, rt on Jefferson, left on Park. Loop around the park - Park, rt on Mississippi, rt on Lafayette, rt on Missouri, rt on Park, then continue to Park and 18th for your treat!

I wish I knew the exact street, but if you know where Ted Drewes is, you're close. Ted Drewes is on Chippewa, and directly behind it is a street that every house is decorated and if I remember correctly, on the weekends, they pass out candy canes to kids and collect donations (for Salvation Army, I think).
That's St. Louis Hills, and most of that neighborhood likes to decorate.
We went to Tilles Park last week, it wass pretty great. It's on Litzinger at McKnight. It was $10 a car.
