Christmas Gift for DH Question

Is it really a Christmas gift to my husband if I select something I will also enjoy? We're both Giants fans and a local sports memorabilia place has started selling beautiful framed photos from their winning game. I know DH would be thrilled to have one, but I would also enjoy seeing it on the wall of our office. Should I still consider getting it for him? We wouldn't buy it otherwise since it's expensive (won't cause us to go broke, but we just wouldn't splurge on it otherwise) and would be a special purchase.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for the feedback! I appreciate the reassurance. I'm going to order it!

You're seriously considering NOT getting a special gift he would love, just because YOU would like it also? (Scratching head?!)

I say that's the best kind of gift!

Now if it's something you love and you hope he'd also like, then yeah, I would probably not but if this is for him, which you also like, great! Go for it!

If it's going to mean that the money comes out of the food budget, it's too expensive.

If you're really the Giants fan and he just goes along with it, then he's not the proper recipient.

If you can afford it, want to do it, and your husband will LOVE it (and love YOU for giving it to him!), then go ahead. Your liking it as well will just be an extra benefit.

Yes you should give it to him. My husband and I often give theater tickets to our children, my parents and ourselves and we all enjoy the show. I never once thought it may be a selfish gift because I would be enjoying it too.

Why not? I've given my husband gifts, that he would love...and I also loved. We enjoy mostly the same things, so our gifts often please both of us.

Sure- sometimes a gift is something the entire family wants! If your husband will love it- its just a bonus if you want it too :)

If it doesn't break the bank, I say get it.
The next best thing would have been tickets to a game.
Next year it can be an early Christmas gift. ! :)

If it is something he loves, but you will also not hate, then I say that is the perfect gift. You should also get him a shirt or something, that is just his, but less expensive. My SIL and BIL are HUGE GIANTS FANS, and their shirts arrived over the weekend while we were visiting. It was orange all around!
Happy Gift Giving!

Yes, I am always getting things from my husband that he wants too, or that are for the house. We have a large mirror in our frontroom that we both wanted, but it was my gift. I say get it!
