Get him in ASAP. It'll take some time because it's not magic they perform but it's DAMN close to it. He may also need to see a physical therapist. I know both of them worked WONDERS for me.

Just a year ago I would just lay around I was in so much pain. Now I'm running five miles every other day. FREAKING MIRACLE WORKERS!

My son is 4.5 years old and has been going since he was born. He LOVES going and he's never had an ear infection or digestion issues. There's a ton of awesome benefits getting chiro care!

Good luck, I know his pain--LITERALLY!

I have a desk job and sit a lot. Every few weeks my lower back will tighten up and it feels like a have a broom up my buttonsky. No amount of stretching or exercise helps - it just gets worse and worse till I go in. My chiro is old school and I love him. He is a miracle worker. He does not take x-rays unless absolutely necessary. He is quick and does not over-work my joints. He does not expect me to come weekly or be on an appointment schedule. He just adjusts what needs tuned up and tells me jokingly that he does not want to see me again.

A chiro can help...I work for a chiro/FNP and we have helped many people. We specialize in pain managment and are one of the VERY few who have the LCT 1000 Litecure laser which heals from the inside out. We have two locations 1 in FW and the other in NRH off 820 and Rufe Snow. The name of our clinics is Allcare Bone & Joint/Medical clinics. You can contact the clinics @ ###-###-#### for FW or ###-###-#### for the NRH clinic...give them my name (S. K.) as the person referring you.

Yes! Going to a GOOD chiropractor is definitely the answer, and I know a great one in Arlington. Dr. Jeff Pedersen (Pedersen Chiropractic) on Park Row. He is the best I've been to and I've been to many over the years. I haven't found a new one for me since I moved from Arlington 4 months ago. Tell him Jessica Tucker referred you!!!

I'm sorry your husband is having back troubles. They are NOT fun!!

Yes he could see a lot of benefits from chiropractic adjustments. I have been going for years and my daughter goes too for well visits. They will keep the spine aligned so that everything else works properly.
Just remember that you have to choose one that works best with you, like choosing a regular doctor.

Yes, he would more than likely benefit from a Chiropractor. My husband is one, and lower back pain is one of the most common problems he sees people for. Don't expect an adjustment to be a magic wand cure though. It usually takes a few visits, mainly because once your spine gets out of whack (especially if it has been going on for a while) the muscles around it will push it back out of line. A good Chiro will tell you why your back works and will give you an exercise program (usually just stretches type things) to strengthen the muscles to keep you in proper alignment.

Also a good chiro will not automatically put you on a three a week visit for x amount of weeks, then twice a week for x amount of weeks. Be wary of those who do that. It may be necessary for your husband to come back several times in the beginning, but a good chiro won't presume to know when he will be all better. A good one will take his progress one step at a time and if they are not seeing some sort of improvement in a few treatments should start to recommend you to someone else.

I go to a chiropractor in East Fort Worth (Handley actually) that is awesome. His name is Dr. Dazzle Shrestha and my whole family goes to him. He's on the corner of Handley Ave and Lancaster (it's called East Side Chiropractic) in the historic Handley neighborhood. I think Division turns into Lancaster. Anyway, I was in a car wreck about a year ago and started going, and since then I go once a month for an adjustment and my kids and husband now go too. Best of luck!

Chiropractic adjustment can work wonders. Be sure to find a recommendation or referral for the practitioner, and understand that chronic pain needs regular treatment. Poorly aligned vertebrae can 'pop' back into the wrong position after adjustments. It can help, but be prepared for some repeat visits and to do the exercises/stretches suggested.

Chiropractors have always helped our whole family. My husband had a bad back for years. He had MRI's, medications, therapy etc. The only thing that really helped was an adjustment with our chiropractor. He found a good one near us that makes it so he hardly ever has to go back in. He loves that since he has an ongoing back problem. If your husband isn't getting the relief he wants from the technique a chiropractor is doing, find another one. There are several different types of techniques and although a chiropractor may have a "favorite," there is no one-size-fits-all way to adjust someone. Good luck!

I love going to the chiro. I feel great afterwards. It does take time for things to get back into alignment. Find a chiro who does the old school adjusting, I went to one that only did my neck then had some silly machine doing a heat/vib treatment what a rip off joke. I now see one that adjusts me from head to toe. I had a rib out of place had been in alot of discomfort for many months, it took two vists one week apart and now it feels so much better, I am doing monthly adjustments for control.

I think a trip to the chiro is just the ticket! My family used to get adjustments regularly and, with my youngest, the chiro's techniques for dealing with ear infections kept him out of surgery!

Good luck to your hubby!

you might try Airrosti Therapy www.airrosti.com it is for soft tissue injuries, it has done amazing things for my back problems, it can provide immediate relief for most problems. most treatment is 3-4 sessions, but I had great relief in one session! I use Dr Smith in Keller but there may be someone closer to you, just check on the website. Dr Smith is a former Chiropractor but he switched to Airrosti because he felt it helped more people. I think both are good just different approaches, but I strongly recommend trying the Airrosti first.

Absolutely! Chiros focus more on actual healing and retraining, and adjust not just for pain but also to reduce nervous system interference, since the spine houses the nervous system, which controls all boily function. Osteopaths tend to focus on pain relief only. I and my kids have been adjusted since birth, and love it! Chiropractic is like dentistry, you'll always have a spine so you always need to take care of it.

I'd press his doc to do an mri on his back to see what's going on.
I had 3 herniated disks last year, the chiropractor made it worse for me. I had always used chiropractic before, so not bashing chiro's in any way shape or form, but sometimes they cant help you and can make things worse.
Herniated disks can heal, but it takes a long time and you have to baby your back for awhile.
Heat and cold packs alternated. Keeping legs elevated as much as possible, and a religious regimen of anti-inflammatory such as motrin.
It is the worst pain I EVER had, and lasted WAY TOO long before I got help. The doc gave me a steroid shot in Oct of 2010 and told me he thought I'd probably be back for another one within a few mos, but I havent had any pain since then!

I'd recommend an appt with a DO (Doctor of Osteopathy). They are physicians that are trained like medical doctors (4 yr med school plus residency) but have the additional skills of osteopathic manipulation. I have found lasting relief for back pain in the past from osteopathic manipulation. Chiropractors can adjust or realign bones that have shifted, but the relief is often temporary because emphasis is not placed on strengthening the supporting muscles and ligaments that hold bones in place. Hope your husband finds relief soon.

Not in Arlington, but if he doesn't mind driving to Fort Worth I get a great massage from Jaime Danz at ###-###-####. She is just north (1 blk) of Baylor All Saints Hospital at 1615 W. Oleander Fort Worth 76104. Jaime doesn't knead you through a massage but works your trigger points and does a fantastic job on the body. I highly recommend her. Use my name. Totally worth the $$$ spent.
