My children have been approved for CHIPS Insurance, I am new to this because they have only had private insurance, but I need to pick a policy between Superior Healthplan or Molina- I have done my research on the internet and their websites but have not had a lot of luck picking one over the other- has anyone had any experience with either one? Also it is possible we could be moving to the Austin area-- does anybody have any experience with a certain provider there? Thanks!

So What Happened?

I appreciate your responses- after doing additional research and talking with a lady whom works for CHIPS I found out one is not better than the other. However, Molina does cover additional vision and dental expenses, so I choose them. Thank you all so much!

Im not sure about CHIPS plans... My DD is on medicaid, so I'm sure the clinic we use would accept CHIPS (if you are interested) We go to the Lone Star circle of care... (Round Rock is right outside Austin...) My Pedi. is Dr. Pautler, and she is awesome! Very patient and attentive with us, and the nurses are good too. I feel very comfortable with her, and she doesn't make you feel stupid if you take your kids in for something minor. It is a low-income clinic, but it is in a VERY clean, well maintained building. I was pleasantly surprised when I went there for the first time. The # is 877-800-5722 if you are interested... OR you can follow this link...

A., ask both Superior and Molina for a provider directory in your current area and Austin, I'm pretty sure you can find it online, and decide who has the provider you want. I am with Superior and so far I like it.

I have chips also for my kids and its best to see which doctors fall under Superior or Molina if the doctor you use for the kids doesnt accept one or the other then you know which one to choose. think of possible referral doctors dentist etc. That was how I chose which one I was going to choose. Good luck

I liked the Superior. I had great doctors and very good care. I was always happy with the service. They really seem to care about their patients. I lived in Leander and used Dr. Kangos in N. Austin. I do not know if he is still on the plan. There is also a Dr. Nash in Cedar Park. I have never heard of Molina. cb
