Is anyone will to share their Chili receipe with me? My husband loves chili as do I of late and would get a kick out of making this for him. There is nothing like home-made chili.
Thanks and happy holidays to all!

The way I make chili is a little different. I brown about a pound or little more ground beef, and chopped onion. (However much you like..I use about 1/2 or little more) Then I add a 12 or 14 ounce can of tomato paste, and about 2 or more cans of water. Then for the beans, I use a maple or brown sugar flavored baked beans for a sweeter flavor. Then a few tablespoons of chili powder to taste!..With this recipe there's no set amounts, these are general guidelines and it's delicious every time!

I use Rachel Ray's recipie

* 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), corn oil or vegetable oil
* 2 pounds ground sirloin
* 1 medium onion, chopped
* 3 cloves garlic, chopped
* 1 rounded tablespoon chili powder (a palmful)
* 1 tablespoon grill seasoning (a palmful), such as McCormick brand Montreal Steak Seasoning
* 1 tablespoon ground cumin (a palmful)
* 1/2 tablespoon ground coriander (half a palmful)
* 1 bottle lager-style beer
* 1 cup beef stock
* 1 can chunky-style crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)

Preparation

Heat a large pot over medium-high heat with two turns of the pan of EVOO, about two tablespoons. When the oil ripples, add the ground sirloin and crumble the meat as it cooks, about three minutes. Add the onion and garlic, chili powder, grill seasoning, cumin and coriander. Cook another five minutes.

Add beer and cook another minute, stirring to loosen any bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the stock and tomatoes, and bring to a bubble. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes. Serve with your favorite chili toppings.

I have to add my No Chop Chili. We make it with turkey, so it's low fat. This is so fast - there is nothing to chop (hence the name), you can have all the ingredients on hand for whenever you need a quick meal, and we add the corn to cut the heat.

E.'s No Chop Chili

Frozen:
2/3 bag green peppers
2/3 bag onions
2/3 bag white/sweet corn

Cans:
1 can black beans
1 can chili beans/kidney beans
1 can Ro Tel tomatoes/ “Chili Fixin’s” or Tomatoes & Chilis
1 can diced tomatoes

Other
1 or 1.25 lbs ground turkey, 99% fat free
1 packet chili seasoning (or can use own spices; we like Lowry's and then add a little chipotle)
Shredded co-jack cheese

Directions:
Spray non-stick spray in large pot or Dutch oven. Brown turkey together with green peppers and onions. Add all cans – beans and tomatoes. Add frozen corn. Bring to a boil, then simmer. Serve with shredded co-jack cheese + corn muffins on the side.

This is really simple recipe....you'll need:

1 lb. hamburger
chili powder
2 cans of fire roasted tomatoes
2 cans of kidney beans (1 light and 1 dark)
1 large jar of thick n chunky salsa
sour cream
shredded cheese
oyster crackers
optional....tomato juice

First you brown the hamburger. Then you add two tablespoons of chili powder to the hamburger. You may have to drain the hamburger. Drain the kidney beans and then add to the hamburger. Add the fire-roasted tomatoes....do NOT drain these. Add the jar of salsa. Add the tomato juice (optional)....or you can add cup of water also...depends how you like your chili:).....

Let the chili stew on medium for 30 minutes stirring occassionally. Then add a dollup of sour cream, shredded cheese, and oyster crackers....yummy!! Hope you like it....I like it b/c it's simple:)

Hi E.,
My family absolutely LOVES my White Chili.
You need to boil a pound and half of chicken save the broth. saute a med. onion in olive oil, 1 can of green chilies, 1tsp. of minced garlic, a tsp. of each: white pepper,cayenne pepper, italian seasoning. A Tbs. of chili powder and 2 Tbs. of cumin. You may need to add some stock now. Add 1 quarter cup of flour, stir until dissolved. Add 3-5 15oz. cans of Great Northern beans. Add the chicken (you can cube it or shred it)and 2 cups of broth. As the chili heats up again add 1 lbs cubed monterey jack or pepper jack cheese. You can garnish with sour cream and or salsa. I hope you try it. It is delicious! =P

I see you've already gotten a lot of recipes, but there aren't any exactly like mine so here goes:

This is for a 5-6 qt crockpot, cut in half for smaller crockpots.

2 lbs ground beef browned and drained
2 cans Bush's chili beans
2 cans diced tomatoes
2 8 oz cans tomato sauce
2 packages chili seasoning

Put it all in the crockpot on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 4 hours.

The nice thing about this recipe is you can adjust how spicy you like it. Bush makes chili beans from mild to spicy, and you can buy diced tomatoes with jalapenos or plain, as well a spicier chili seasoning mix. You can also substitute 2 lbs boneless chicken breast cut into cubes if you like chicken chili.

I use the 2-alarm chili box from the store ( it is where you find all those envelopes to make gravies etc) you buiy the meat & I use all the options to add & it turns out fantastic--the best part is that all the seasonings are in the box & you adjust your red pepper for spice (hot)---all you really need is the meat, onion, peppers & the beans of course & (I use 2 cans of the beans & a little more meat, I just increase the water slightly..I am telling you he will love it!

garnish with shredded cheese, oyster crackers & onions & I make a jiffy cornbread in a loaf pan (super easy) it goes great with it!

E., I will try my best. I don't really have a recipe I just know how to make it. My mom told me years ago. Here it is.

1lb of ground beef(more if you want)
1 cup chopped onions
1 or 2 chopped green bell pepper
1 can of chili beans
1 can diced tomatoes
1 or 2 teaspoons chili powder(add more if you need to.)

Brown ground beef and onions. When browned drain to remove access grease. Add the rest of ingredients and put on low for about an hour or so. Add some hot sauce if you like it spicy. Serve with grated cheddar cheese and oyster crackers. E. you can also go to the store and get a chili seasoning enevelope which is fine. You really can't screw this up. Add more or less of the ingredients. Taste it and see what you think. Also add a little salt and pepper. I am sure your chili will be delicious. Good Luck and Merry Christmas!

Hi E.,

I have had people rave about my chili. I make it a couple different ways, regular and Super-spicy! My 'secret' indgredient is Carol Shelby's chili mix. You can find it in that section of the grocery store where all the mixes are. I've been using it for years and it's pretty foolproof. It comes with 4 packets of spices. So if you prefer less spicy you wouldn't put as much of the chili powder into it. And I don't put in all the salt because if it gets too salty there's nothing you can do but someone could always add more salt if they want to. I also like to make it with ground turkey instead of beef, for a bit more healthy version, but be sure you don't buy the 'extra lean' version of the meat as it gets a bit too dried out. I normally make it in the crock pot cooking on low for like3 3-6 hours, but this last time I didn't have that much time so I made it in a pot and cooked it for like an hour and it turned out just as good. In fact the package says you can just cook it for like 15 or 20 minutes. Not sure how good that would be because it doesn't really give time for the flavors to really meld, but I suppose it's not bad.

I also like to add extra diced tomatoes, we really like the tomatoey chili. I will addd a can of mushrooms, you know whatever veggies I have around to make it more healthy.

Hope this helps. Please try it, it's so easy!

Drain

Add: 1 can Campbell's Tomato Soup, 2 cans Chili Beans

Add: Chili Powder to taste (I use quite a bit)

Optional: Cumin (just a little), Jalapenos, Salsa

Here's my easy one that I came up with combining the Bush's chili bean recipe and then one that a friend of mine gave me below it.

Easy & Mild (add jalapeno for more of a quick):
1 lb. ground turkey
1 onion (diced)
1 green pepper (diced)
2 or 3 cans of Bush's chili beans
1 can of diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 can of tomato paste
1 grated potato (acts like cornstarch to thicken faster and stretches the meat)
1/2 - 1 packet of chili seasoning

Cook the ground meat and drain the fat. Put all of the above in a pot or crock pot bring it to a slow boil and let it simmer until it thickens to your desired level. On high it should take about 3 hours.

Serve over macaroni noodles and top with cheese for chili-mac if desired.
-----------------------
Alternate Chili recipe

Ingredients
1 lb of ground beef
2 small or 1 big onion (diced)
1 green pepper (diced)
1 or more fresh jalapeno (diced) depends on how hot you want it, I use 2 peppers.
2 or 3 cans of chili beans (any brand)
1 can of tomato juice, a big can, something like 2 qt
1 can of diced tomato with jalapeno combo
1 packet of chili seasoning

Cook the ground beef and drain the fat. Put all of the above in a pot or crock pot bring it to a slow boil and let it simmer until it thickens to your desired level.

Enjoy!

Okay this is a super easy recipe that I made as a kid. It will seem too simple to be good, but from my experience my simplest recipes are the best. This comes from a Better Homes and Garden Jr cookbook from the 70's. I make it a few times a month because my husband loves it (and he's so picky) and even my girls can eat it. They love it with shredded cheese on top. My husband also adds jalepenos to the top of his.

Chili Con Carne
(The New Junior Cookbook from Better Homes and Gardens)

1 small onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
1 pound ground beef
1 15 ½ ounce can kidney beans
1 15 ounce can tomato sauce (I use two little cans)
1 tsp chili powder
¾ tsp salt

Corn chips (optional)
Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Jalapenos (optional)
Sour crème (optional)

Brown the beef with the onion and green pepper. Drain the fat from the pan. Add all the ingredients except the corn chips and other optional ingredients; mix well. Heat on high heat until it comes to a boil. Then simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally so it won’t stick to the pan.

Serve in bowls with corn chips, cheese, jalapenos and so forth if you wish.

Makes 4 to 5 servings.

I usually add a 1 (15 ½ oz) can of diced tomatoes as well for body and more nutrition.

And if you don’t keep fresh bell peppers in the fridge because they go bad before you can use them, then cut up a few and keep them in the freezer for you to take from when you need them.

lb and 1/2 ground beef (turkey optional), 5 small cans of mild or hot chili beans, green pepper, onion (buy the frozen bag already chopped) or you can chop fresh, 2 small cans of stewed tomatoes, 1 med can tomatoe sauce, 1 pack of chili mix, chili powder and cumin it's a spice. large skillet and large pot. In pot (fire medium) add chili beans, stewed tomatoes chili powder 2 tablespoons and cumin 2(tblspoons)while that's warming - In skillet with a little oil, add 1/2 bag green pepper and onions sautee a little then add the meat (keep browning meat and make sure you keep chopping meat till its fine)when meat is cooked add pack of chili mix and can of tomatoe sauce (add 2 tomatoe sauce cans of water and a tablespoon of sugar) cook low and stir (if you like a kick add a little red pepper- add meat mixture to pot of beans and stir, cook low for 1/2 hour making sure it doesn't stick. taste it (if you don't have the desired chili flavor add more chili powder and a little more cumin...salt and touch of pepper. enjoy with a little chili crackers or regular crackers. (top it with a little shredded mild cheddar cheese) or a little sour cream. and if you were raised in the south you can cook you a little macaroni shells, rinse and add a little to the bottom of the bowl before you add the chili. (sample all three in small amounts first) to see how you like it. Let me know how it went and if your husband enjoyed it. good luck. (don't worry it's soooo easy) happy holidays
