Yes, this is neurotic of me.
On the Little People farmhouse, all the animals have their picture next to their spot except the goat. Why is there no love for the goat?!
This is really bugging me.
When we set it up on my daughter's shelf I put the goat next to the farmer in the yard, and mentally decide that the goat is super special as the farmer's best buddy. But when all the animals go "take a nap" the poor goat gets stuck in the silo.
(Don't worry, I'm not really freaking out. It's a really great toy and easily my kiddo's favorite. Even the baby likes it. Well, the baby likes chewing on it.)
Phew. I feel better now that's off my chest. Where does your goat live?
Last night, while putting the toys away after the babies went to sleep, I put the farm on the shelf and just gathered everything else up, this included the farm animals, and tossed them in the toy box. This morning my DD went to get her farm down and, ack!, no animals! She was very distressed until we dug every last one, including the goat, back out.
The moral of the story? The goat may not have an assigned spot but he gosh-darned better be with the farm or I will have one very upset toddler-farmer on my hands!

We dont have the farm, but we do have the circus train. Every night after my son went to bed, my husband put the Giraffe in the conductor's seat and the conductor someplace else on the train.
Every morning, when my two year old son would come out and spy that giraffe driving, he would make an exasperated grunt and move the conductor back up the front.
Have you ever had a goat? Just once getting butted in your backside will tell you why there is no love for goats.
I'll take that over roosters though. I hate those things, a still bear a two inch scar from that damn rooster that pecked me on the shin.
I had to laugh at your question...made me think of the poster that posts regarding 'destroying toys that make noise'...LOL...THAT is neurotic!!
Our animals never slept in the barn...they either were strolled around in the doll carriage...or slept in the doll's bed!

Goats live outside in the pasture. Always have. They like to roam.
You know, I just gave that toy to a friend since my children have outgrown it, and I found everyone but the goat! I searched for the animals based (very scientifically) on their "spots". Of course, I would overlook the goat! He has since been found and is now waiting in my Out Basket before going to his new home.

That goes to show how unobservant I am! I didn't even notice that they had pictures up of where the animals go. At then end of play, we put all the Little People toys into a big container.
