I need help finding a part time (a few hours a day, twice a week) preschool for my son. He is in a part time program now that his nanny brings him to, but he turns 3 in January so I have to find a new school for the remainder of the year. I pay my nanny while he is in school, so I prefer only 1 1/2 hours per day.

You may want to look into Talcott Fine Arts and Museum Academy on Ohio and Wood. You will need to apply via lottery as it is a Magnet Cluster School. Am not sure where North are you living to recommend other public schools.

Check out the Chicago Park District. When my son was younger, he went to Sheil Park for 1 1/2 hours/2-3 times per week. They also had additional classes you could sign up for to make the day longer. I'm not sure where on the north side you are looking, but I know that Chase, Revere, Horner, McFetridge and Welles all have preschool programs. Good luck!

E., have you checked out the park district programs which may not cost much or Lake Shore School? I don't know much about lake Shore's programs but know they are there. One location is in the 5600 North block of Clark Street. Good luck.
