Chemical Pregnancies

Has anyone had any experience with chemical pregnancies. I have had two in the past 5 months and would like to know if anyone had any success with future pregnancies and how. I am asking my ob to refer me to a specialist. I have already gone through a lot of blood work to find out if I had a clotting issue and that has all come back negative. Any advice or experiences would be so helpful. I desperately want to have another baby. I already have a beautiful 20 month old little boy and want him to have a brother or sister someday.

What can I do next?

I also recently had a chemical pregnancy, but I do have a blood clotting issue. My doctor recommended that I take B-6 and a baby aspirin every day. It's only been one month since the chemical pregnancy, so I haven't been successful as of yet. It also took me over a year to get pregnant with my first child, who is now three. However, it ended up happening naturally without any intervention and I am hopeful that will be the same case this second time around.
Good luck to you!

Hi J.-
I have had two chemical pregnacies and two live births and i am pregnant with baby number 3. I got pregant with my son on the first try, then i had a chemical pregnacy and then two months later got pregnant with my daughter. when we were trying for number three i got pregnant right away but again it was a chemical pregnacy then two months later here i am with baby number three. The way that the doc explained it to me was that if we didn't have the ability to test at home we would probably never have known the pregnacy happend we would have just thought we were late. in the past before home pregnancy test by the time people would get to their doc the pregnacy would have been lost and they would have thought they had just gotten a heavy period. My doc told me that is is very common, 30 % of women have chemical pregnacies. After my first chemical pregnacy i read a lot about it and i read an article that mentioned being low in B6 can cause a chemical pregnacy, i bought some b6 and tried it. I have no idea if it worked or it was just a coincendence but i had another child and i'm pregnant again. I would run it by your ob and see what he or she thinks. Good luck.

My first IVF resulted in a positive pregnancy test. THe first 2 tests were positive but by the 6th week the numbers were dropping indicating that I was miscarrying. The 2nd attempt failed, but the 3rd resulted in twin girls.

You don't say how old you are, so that might be an issue, but miscarriages are very common. I think you are wise to see a specialist. Good luck.

Hi J.-
What do you mean by chemical pregnancy? I have never heard of that term. Is it something new?
Thanks,
K.

HI J..
I had a chemical pregnancy as well and am now almost 34 weeks pregnant. We got pregnant naturally about 3 months afterwards after following the advice of our doctor who said this is very common. He advised to just keep trying...no need to do anything. So hang in there, stay positive and relaxed and it will happen! Good luck!
