I just noticed that women who have asked their first and only question have what looks like a seal saying they are a Charter Member after their first question. What?! Perhaps, I don't understand why the seal is there. Looks to me that it says they're a charter member and that cannot be true.
I like knowing who actually is a charter member, who has been with this site since the beginning. What do you think?
I love your answers. I don't actually care. I am irritated because it's another sign that the everyone is equal idea has made everyone mediocre. Society is gradually taking away the incentive to excell.
yeah. I remember seeing that on my profile some years ago, and feeling special...until I noticed that EVERYBODY has it.

That has always stuck in my craw, and I agree with you 100%. It could be used as a ‘credential’. Instead it is the “everyone gets a participation medal”, even the trolls.

Thanks for the question M.. I think you make an excellent point. It really does not make much sense for everyone to have the same exact member status sticker attached to their profile. I believe that logo was carried over from an earlier version of the site before the current owners took over and now no longer is really applicable (if it ever was). I am sure the intent is not to equalize everyone, this issue is more of a reflection of a technical flaw than any real intent on our part to classify any given member as "charter" or otherwise. I have brought this issue up with the rest of the staff here and we will certainly be looking into the matter and considering best possible solutions. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention.

Found out today my husband isn't able to have open heart surgery to save his life so I was pretty bummed. Now that I have a seal on my profile life is all better!

Yeah, charter member to me implies someone who's been a member for a long time!!..not for someone who has asked just one question or answered one time. Just shaking my head on this!
Here we go again with everyone feeling "special" because they participated. I have been here since Mamasource days and now its mamapedia that's like 8 years or so. Oh well, just goes to show that we are in the new generation of certificates.

Sometimes the real charter members act like they own this site THAT is more irritating to me.
That charter member thing has been on everyone's profile for as long as I can remember. I've been here for ages and it's always been there. I have no idea why it's even there to be honest. I don't think I'm a charter member, though I was here when it was still Mamasource. Who knows what it's there for.
