R. I know nothing about cervicitis but would suggest talking again with your doctor to find out more about it now that your feeling better now. I wish you and your new baby an enjoyable rest of your pregancey. I loved the the second half of our pregancey. Best of luck.

Hi R.,
I am sorry to hear that you are having this problem. Were you diagnosed with cervicitis before you were pregnant? Sometimes girls have it and it worsens during pregnancy which may be why you're having problems now. You also get it from STD's. If neither of you have ever had an STD and now this is showing up, it may be cause for concern.
I would say be very careful and listen to your doctor, because if you get an infection because of it and don't take care of yourself, it can cause difficulties in labor.
And talk to your boyfriend. If he is the father of this baby, and cares for you, then you really need to work together on this.
Hope it gets better!
V.

Cervicitis is not always caused by STDs. I went to the ER when I was 14 wks pregnant. The doctor said, "Oh, you have cervicitis; it's probably an STD." I assured them I did not have an STD, but they basically just smiled and nodded. They gave me an antibiotic injection they said would treat the infection, but it was really the common treatment for some STD! They didn't even tell me that! I didn't find out until my midwife was looking over the report from the ER. Although I may have been a little lightheaded because I had been waiting for eleven hours during which they would not let me eat (because I had stomach pains). Anyway, the results of the panel of STD tests they ran confirmed that I was, in fact, disease-free.

This website should help explain....there are many causes for why you may have this but, it should definately not go untreated.
