there is these baby wipe stuff that you can buy at a petsmart or petco and you just lightly rub it all over the cat. I have seen a spray too, but they don't like that as much.
what do you guys use to give your cat a bath? and where can I buy it?

A first aid kit? Shot of whiskey?? Seriously, I have had many cats, never gave a bath.
The only time I've given a cat a bath was when ours got fleas once. I've had cats for 25 years. I'm curious why you would need to give your cat a bath?
try dry cat shampoo at your local Petsmart.. (Pets Mart or Pet Smart? you decide!! LOL)
You don't have to dunk the cat, and it will save you some bleeding arms.... if your cat is not de-clawed (which I am totally against btw)
I use it on my cat, he loves to be brushed, so I put powder on my hands, rub it nicely into his fur and brush it out... prrrrrrrrrrrr! Heaven... plus you get the loose dander and hair off.
Just wash your hands when you are done.. yuk!
I think the only time I have ever given a cat a bath was when my 2 yo spilled syrup on him. I probably used her Baby shampoo.
Why do you want to bathe your cat?
Your question gave me the Shivers!!!
I keep think of the cats we have been "allowed" to live with..
They would not have been pleased. Yikes.
I use Segeants brand (I think that's what it is) but it is the main cat shampoo in the pet aisle at our grocery store. We used to use Fur So Fresh, but I haven't seen it for sale.
I try to brush our cat first so there's less extra hair in the bath, then either wet him under the tap in the bathtub or hold him in a shower, soap him up all over, and rinse him. He actually is more calm if he's under running water than place in water in a tub or sink. I try to brush him off after.
I don't usually bathe my cats, but mine had the runs last night and managed to get it on himself and track it on the rug. So I had to bathe him -- use my kids Johnson and Johnson Body wash/shampoo.
Whisker City tearless shampoo. I fill a bucket with water, get in an empty bath with the cat and I use a cup dipped in the water to bathe the cat. It scares them less than a sink to have water gently poured over them.
I was told by the vet to use Dawn liquid dishwahing soap on the rare occasions they need to be bathed. But I was told that you really don't need to bathe them unless they get into something etc. They do a great job of cleaning themselves.
Hylyt shampoo and conditioner if needed. Most pet stores will have it. It smells good and is soap free, also what I use on our dog.
I take them to the groomer on the rare occasion they need bathing. I like my hands and arms and want to keep them, thanks.
The reactions you got to this question are funny! As long as you start young with baths, the cat should take a bath just fine! They won't love it, but you certainly can get out of it scratch free. As long as fleas are not a problem, you can just use baby shampoo. I understand that many people do not bathe their cats. In this house we do, mainly because of allergy problems. It helps out TONS in that department. We bathe our cats once every 1-2 months. Any more frequently than that can cause dry skin. The good thing about the baby shampoo is that its tear free and you can buy it almost anywhere. Good luck :)
Target sells this shampoo called Pro-Pet deodorizing cat shampoo and I love the way it smells. It's a green goo in a clear bottle and it smells like baby powder. I wash my cats with it about once a year. Usually after the weather turns warm and they start shedding. I give them a good brushing to knock loose all that extra fur then give them a scrub in the tub. Love the smell of a freshly bathed kitty!
