D.D.
I hand wash mine. Just use cold water and a little woolite. Add the scarf once the detergent is mixed in the with water and swish around every once in a while. Rinse until the water is clean.
I took some to a dry cleaner and a few came back damaged. They were my mom's and don't have tags on how to clean them. Do I need to hand wash? Or just take them to a different dry cleaner? How do you clean yours?

Oh sorry to hear that. These must have meant something to you.
I agree with Diane below. Sometimes you can bring delicates back to life like that - I have in the past.
I've used the smallest amount of detergent (mild) and make sure not to get on the item (make sure it's really mixed in with the water first). When you rinse, don't wring it. The thing is, if you can lay it out flat on a towel and kind of blot it, and I've rolled things up gently in a towel to get the excess water out and then laid flat - that has kind of kept the shape.
Good luck I hope it helps.
I've taken silk scarves to my mom when I didn't know how to wash them (she seems to the expert in getting stains and things like that out of laundry!). She hand washes them with Woolite in cold water and puts them outside in the shade to dry.
I would hand wash them. I have a few silk blouses and some are over 20 years old. I wash them in Ivory. Ivory is a soap not a detergent and more gentle for delicate fabrics. I hang then on hangers to dry. I must be doing something right they still look beautiful.
BTW: Woolite is not safe for use on delicate fabrics or wool.
Woolite, hand wash, hang to dry after blotting excess water out with a towel (no twisting). Lightly iron (maybe with an ironing cloth between the iron and the scarf.)
They may have been damaged because the dry cleaners didn't know how to clean them. Some silk fabrics have to be cleaned with soap and water instead of dry cleaning chemicals.
hand wash and hang dry.
