I took my 5 year old to see it and he loved it! There are parts geared towards older kids but still every superhero movie is like that...
Hi, Has anyone seen Captain America? Will it be good for my 7 year old? I know it's rated PG13 but you go into a store and all the captain America toys are there. So, of course, he sees all the toys, (which are definitely geared toward a 7 year old), which only makes him want to see the movie.
Thanks!

This is the website I trust to give age recommendations:

I'm a bit surprised they recommend age 11, since the film is rated PG-13.
i think it depends greatly on your son
my 6 yr old is a superhero fan... i do no just mean he likes to play with the toys. i mean he knows their alter egos, thier arch enemies and their back stories he has seen cartoons and live action super hero movies. it is something he and his dad do together and he really enjoys it.
That being said, he knew what to expect, he knows captain american is a soldier who fight the nazis. He knows about red skull
if you read reviews most parents who gear it older do so because of the viollence (which is typical of a comic movie and not gory) and the fear factor of red skull. if you son is used to these things... then I think it is fine
i would go earlier in the day in case he has question as to not to annoy adult movie goes at night who do not want to see kids at the movies (lol)
If he can still behave if he gets bored with the dialogue then he should be fine. It isn't any worse than Spiderman as far as action/violence/scary bad guys. But there is a lot of slow dialogue that is pertinent to the story.
If you are not familiar with the storyline: It is set in the 1940's WWII and the US is pushing war bonds and the USO is putting dancing girls on stage to entertain the troops afar and to sell bonds at home. There is good bit of the opening of the movie spent with the main character trying to get into the military. If your son can follow that stuff, or not follow it and still behave through it even if he is bored, then he should be a-okay!
We took our 10 and 13 year olds and they LOVED it. So did the adults. :)
as stated previously more for 10 and up on this one.
