Can You Give a Kid a Pedicure? : )

Hi Ladies! During the summer my boys get baths almost every day because it's hot and they sweat, sunscreen, etc. On days that they wear sandals or crocs with bare feet, their feet and toenails are practically black by the end of the day. Even with a good soak, their nails dont come clean. I've tried cleaning them out with an orange stick covered in cotton but they have absolutely no patience for that.

Any ideas on how to get those little tootsies clean?

What can I do next?

I use a nail scrubber (nail brush) on my children's nails while they are in the bath. It works pretty quickly if done when the skin has softened up a bit from the water. Good luck!

Make it a GREAT day!

Other than soaking, I'm not really sure how to clean them any better. I often put thin socks on my kids which does wonders... other than from a fashion standpoint! The good news, the dirt won't hurt them, but I know what you mean, it looks icky : ).

I clip them back as far as I can and that seems to help. Now our boys pretty much want to have incredibly short nails as much as possible. I do them as close to the quick as possible without hurting.

I just use my fingernails to get that stuff out of there. Other than that, use a cleanser that kind of foams underneath there to loosen it up.
