Did you know that ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder? It means the person has trouble focusing and/or trouble being still or settling down.

You haven't described anything related to ADHD. Did a teacher or a friend telling you it was ADHD? I'd ask them why.

Sure.
Anyone can have ADHD - but you need a Dr to diagnose it.
Chewing batteries?
Very dangerous - if she breaks the casing she could get a serious chemical burn.
She might have pica ( persistent and compulsive cravings to eat nonfood items).
Always thirsty is a symptom of diabetes.
Take her to a Dr then treat what ever conditions she has.

That's not ADHD, at least not based on those behaviors. If she has a tendency to chew things she shouldn't and is sensitive to to sounds, touch, odors, and other sensory issues she could be showing sensory-seeking behaviors that indicate something called Sensory Processing Disorder. Crying would be a sign of being distressed over being so overwhelmed with the SPD and any other issues going on IF AND ONLY IF that's what it is.

If she's only eating pizza and french fries, those are very salty foods and depending on where you purchase them or how you prepare them they don't necessarily have much nutritional value... so that can contribute to dehydration.

She needs less salty foods and more healthy foods as well as more water more frequently. She needs more fruits and veggies to help with her hydration. During the summer, grapes and watermelon are fantastic as well as fruit salad made with strawberries and blueberries.

More than anything else you really need to take your daughter to the pediatrician and discuss these issues. Ask your pediatrician to refer you to a specialist that can have her evaluated with a neuro-psych evaluation.

None of that sounds like ADHD, but perhaps some type of Sensory Processing Disorder, anxiety, pica, or one of many other disorders that can affect a child. Excessive thirst is one symptom of diabetes. I suggest taking her to her Primary Care Provider and having her examined and getting an evaluation.

My 6 year old has ADHD, and none of what you have described are symptoms of ADHD.

Those things would not be sure signs of ADHD. I would take her to the dr if she's chewing on things that are not ment to be chewed on. There could be more serious issues than ADHD going on with her!

It's not ADHD.

But I agree, take her to a doctor, because a 6 year old chewing on batteries is not normal.

Make sure she eats really healthy foods.

Make sure she attends school and get her involved in some activities outside of school, maybe girl scouts or some kind of sport.

None of these things are signs of ADHD. However, batteries are poisonous. In small quantities, the toxins in them can cause brain and liver damage. Please take your daughter to the doctor NOW.

You can take her to a psychologist that deals with evaluating kids for behavioral issues.

This does NOT sound anything like ADHD. Not even ADD. It does sound like she could have some sensory issues though. She may need more supervision too. Just saying that perhaps she's acting out because she's bored since school is out.

Getting an evaluation is usually the best way to go, then you have a professional that only evaluates kids telling you what they found. You can always get a second opinion to verify that diagnosis too.
