Does anyone know a good soft hand soap for sentitive skin for my 2year old. She goes to day care and the soap there is giving her hands a bad rash or burn. We use a foam soap and they won't except it, it has to be liquid. Thank you

I have very senseitive skin as well as my doctor told me to use dove. He said anything with no dyes or perfumes. Ivory was also advised but it made it feel to dry later.

Cetaphil or the "equate" version of it from Walmart or Walgreens. For very sensitive hands and is liquid.

Natalie,
It might be the dryers that they use in the washrooms.

I've brought lotion to school for her to help as well.

I love the Method hand soaps. Very safe, non-toxic ingredients. You can get it online at methodhome.com or at Target.

My daughter has eczema and we use Cetaphil Liquid soap on her whole body. I'm not sure if it comes in a pump bottle or if I added the pump myself.

I've tried quite a few liquid hand soap in my home day care over the years. The one I like the best is Rainbow Antibacterial Soap for Kids. you can find the 32oz bottle at Whole Foods in Evanston. The Whole Foods near North Ave only has the small bottle. We have purchased the small bottles for all of our sinks, and then refill with the larger size.

This soap does contain triclosan.

I have had excema on my hands soon after my son was born. My dermatologist says that liquid soap is harsher than bar soap. The only soap I have found that I can use is Basis. Also, moisturizing is important and the only product I have found that does not irritate my skin is call "Look No X E MA" from Whole Foods. Hope that this info helps your child.

I have never used it but people rave about California soap (you can get it at Whole Foods).

Get a note from your family doctor or pediatrician stating that your child is getting a rash from the soap in daycare and needs to use the foam soap from home.

Natalia,
We use Softsoap Rainforest handsoap. We all have sensitive skin (my son has excema) and this one is pretty good. But it could be an allergy to an ingredient or fragrance in the soap you're using so you may have to experiment. Also one time my dermatolgist recommended Cetaphil liquid soap but it is not a sudsy soap.
