I want a camera that I can use everywhere. Under water included.

I am looking at the canon D20 or the Nikon Coolpix AW100.

I am a Canon person,, but I know that Nikon is another trusted brand. Do you have either of these? what do you like/ what don;t you like.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Last year we did a disposable, and yes the pics were nice. But it was about $50.00 by the time we were done for 5 pics that came out nice.. so we were thinking if we had a regular camera that did both it would be cheaper in the long run. And more opportunities to use it.

I know it's not one you listed but you want one that is good for underwater. Have you looked at the GoPro line of cameras? We have one and it's a tough little cookie! Takes nice pictures and video. We've used it in all sorts of conditions, including underwater.
Our regular day to day camera is a Panasonic Lumix and it's fantastic. But it can't be used underwater at all which I know does not help you at all LOL

I was looking for an underwater one for our cruise and all of the reviews I saw on EVERYTHING said the cheap disposable ones were better...not sure if it's true, but that's what we are doing for the kids.

I don't know about for underwater use. We bought my daughter a Nikon Coolpix (don't know the model #) and it was horrible. She hated it.

Nikon has been the best ever. Have had many over the years. Have an SLR and a point and shoot. Never ever a problem.
