X-men has a ton of girls in them so it would be appropriate for both genders
Also I think it'd be ok to give the girls non superhero coloring books
My almost 4-year old son is into superheroes. His birthday party will revolve around them and we're thinking of giving crayons and coloring books away in the party favor bags. So here's the dilemma...there are TONS of male superheroes, but what about female? I can give the boys who come to the party Batman, Spiderman, Superman, etc. books. But all I can think of for the girls is Wonder Woman. Who are some other female superheroes (who are/were popular enough to have a coloring book devoted to them)?
I couldn't find ANY female superhero stuff anywhere. So I just ended up giving all the girls princess stuff. Oh well...maybe someone will do a Wonder Woman remake next! :)

The XMen have a lot of females in them -- Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue... all female. The Fantastic Four also has a female member. I think just getting them books with a mixed crowd would be fine. The nice thing about XMEN, Fantastic Four, etc - is the boys would like those as well, so you could get a bunch of the same for everyone and not worry about giving particular bags to one sex or the other. :)
Power Puff Girls and Kim Possible are quite popular. I think both these shows are on Nickelodeon and you may be able to order some merchandise through their website.
That's kind of a tough one. My son just left the room or I would ask him! There is a Batgirl. Then on X-Men there were some girls. I think there was Storm and Phoenix. The Fantastic 4 had Invisible Girl/Woman. I think there was also a girl called Firestar on something. The girls don't usually get as much attention!
Good luck!
