I got one on my calf several years ago and it ended up being MRSA. My whole family got them for about a year and then it mysteriously stopped just as they started. We would have to go get them lanced and then antibiotics.
My son (almost 3) has a bump on the back of his calf that I'm getting worried about. I'll talk him to the doctor this week, but I'm wondering if anyone's had anything like this?
It's the size of a large pimple, seems to have a white head, and is hard.
It's been there for about a week. At first I thought it was a bug bite from playing out in the yard, but it hasn't changed where other bumps around it have cleared up.
Anyone have any experience like this?

Sounds like a dried up white head. It should go away on it's own. My granddaughter has had what sounds like similar bumps on her face and the doctor has said that they are nothing to be concerned about and they do eventually go away.
It could also be an ingrown hair... I have had those and when I 'pop' it, there is a little hair in there.
it sounds like moscuolam (spelling) it's a virus within the body and they will go away - but it can take up to 18 months to go away.....if it's only one - you are lucky - my son had them in clusters....especially behind his knees....
check with the doctor to see if it's something else- especially since it's only one....
Sounds like molluscum which is in the wart family. Molluscum can spread and it's best to get it checked out. Some people don't treat it and just let it run it's course but this can take months and months and by then you end up spreading it to someone else hence why your son got it.
I had a really bad experience with Molluscum. It spread all over my son and was difficult to treat. We had to go to the dermatologist every week for quite a while.
When the bump is white is when it's most contagious and can spread. You're lucky it's just one and hopefully that will only need one treatment.
