Bug Hiding in Bra!?

Ok for reals... Every time I wear a certain bra I get a new bug bite under my right arm. And, yes, I do wash my bras. I had 7 two weeks ago over the course of a week. And one bit me 2 days ago (while staying at my parents house) and then two more last night! Am I going crazy? During the first round I washed everything in our bedroom. My husband hasn't had any. After the first round of bites I went to my dr. He ruled out scabies and bed bugs. Has this ever happened to you? It probably has nothing to do with my bra... plus the bites are pretty good sized and im only a 34B .... where would it hide.. LOL!

What can I do next?

Next time, get checked for a bacterial skin infection...not bug bite. Skin infections can look like bug bites, and often be misdiagnosed. You ay need an antibiotic. Read up on skin infections...particularly MRSA. It looks like an infected bug bite in the early stages - appears like pimple like bumps.

Another possibility is latex sensitivity. Many bras have latex/spandex in the fabric and that can cause an allergic reaction in some people...reactions that look like bug bites. To remedy the situation, try organic cotton lingere. Yes, it does exist...but it's really expensive. Just google it and you'll find it.

Maybe it's body acne. Just like your face, if you're oily and sweaty there, glands can get blocked and make zits. Use a soap that will get rid of the oily dirt like Neutrogena and see if that helps.

Last but not least, perhaps it's a heat rash or dermatitis. You say it's under the band in the same spot. Perhaps you're not getting enough air circulation there. Try cotton bras and/or use a powder (like Gold Bond) to absorb sweat and see if that helps. Perhaps even cortisone cream or an antifungal might work too.

Are you sure it's not a hair? Sometimes that happens to me. Hairs can get stuck in fabric and when just the end pokes out it can be really irritating. My college roommate was in beauty school and she always had this problem because she worked around hair. (Unless you look really closely and pick out the hair, it will stay in the same place -- thus making it look like a bug bite every time you wear it.)

wash all your bras, dry them then store them in the freezer - see if the bite shows up then - if not, then see your doc.

I actually get little bumps sometimes when I am stressed, in my bra area. It usually happens when I am stressed. They bumps look like a mosquito bites and are painful and itch. I have asked the dr and she acted like it was no big deal. I hope you find an answer to your problem. Good luck!
