My 3yr old dosen't like to get her teeth brushed but I brush them anyway. She dosen't take anything by mouth besides sips of water at times and she is g-tube fed and has a trach. What should I do???

That's a tough one because kids who eat via g-tube do not get much oral stimulation so they can develop an aversion to having things in their mouth. I would consult a speech pathologist that specializes in issues like this. She can give you some ideas on how to make her less sensitive to having things in her mouth. That being said, I think a lot of kids that age do not like to brush their teeth. Good luck!

She is just used to nothing being in her mouth. It's foreign to her. He behavior is normal.

Keep brushing her teeth though, otherwise you could end up wiht a child who has silver caps all over her teeth And it's COSTLY!
