I am looking for a medium beige-brown paint that doesn't have ANY tones of yellow, green, pink, or purple in it. I would prefer it to look either only beige-brown or brown with a little bit of gray. ANY suggesions would be helpful. I am extemely color impaired and need all the advice i can get! I would prefer Bendjamin Moore brand since it is available where I shop. Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

You're looking for "greige", I think. Go on www.houzz.com and do a search on "Benjamin Moore greige" and there should be at least a few pics of what you may be looking for. You can click on info for each pic and a lot of them (but not all) have the exact paint brand and color listed. I recently put Sherwin Williams' MegaGreige on my walls in my finished basement and with the white trim and dark floor it looks spectacular!

I love, love, love Devine paint:

It's sold through Hirshfield's in Minnesota. Not sure if they have it in Omaha too.

Have you asked someone for help in the store you shop in? Or thought of taking someone with you to help choose the shade? The reason I think this may help is that a good friend of ours is colorblind, yet remodels homes for a living. He made a mistake when first starting out, picked out what he thought was a great marble and when the clients saw it they said "no way," and told him it didn't match the other colors in the room at all. Ever since he takes someone with him to help.

What you do is, at the paint store, ask the employee there.
They know the "undertones" of the paints.
It is called undertones.
Even if you can't "see" it, they know the formulations of the paints.

Or ask for "Taupe." That is the color you want.
It is a grayish brown.
But again, each range of Taupe, will have different undertones to it. Depending on what color family, it is formulated with.

Just Google Search "Taupe" and the color samples will come up in images.

You've had good suggestions. Be aware that the light hitting the wall will bring out more cool (blue or green) tones or more warm (gold or pink) tones, often depending on the time of day, or the quality of daylight or room light. Brown paint contains a mixture of blue, red and yellow pigments along with black and white. So in different lighting situations, it will commonly look different.

My favorite color is greenbrier beige. It's a beautiful and rich color. I get more compliments on that color !

I had them add a shot of black to it. It was a tad too light for me.

You can always lighten or darken a color after you see it on the wall. Just bring the paint can back to B Moore !

If you have a brown pillow, towel, piece of fabric...that you absolutely love and want it on the wall---They can usually match it.

Ask to see their taupe brown colors---There is usually somebody to help in B Moore.
