Wow...see usually I only post pics of my broom when I'm riding it....I can be such a witch at times....lol.
have any of you tried to get your broom to stand on its own? After seeing posts and pics about it on FB I had to try it myself. Its really neat but kinda creepy also :)
If you haven't tried it... give it a shot! It took me a couple of tries but ours has been standing in the kitchen by itself now for about 2 hours.
Some say its because of the equinox others say it can happen any time... either way no matter what one is correct its pretty neat.

I didn't see the post about it last time...
I found it worked with the head of the broom facing North and South ( that was the only way mine would go, don't know if it makes a diffrence or not) I just made sure the bristles were all flat and just kept trying, it took a bit moving it, but I got it and its still there.

If the broom is going to just stand there and not sweep then I dont want it in my way..lol
Well, based on some of yesterday's threads, I'd say most of us have been out taking our broomsticks for a spin by the full moon.
So can you share the spell you use to get it to stand alone? Some of us are just apprentices.
:)
I was wondering why my MIL posted a pic of the broom in her kitchen and said "it worked".
As luck would have it, I had my broom handy--and it CAN stand on it's own. O. any day of the year. Freaky!
Might have something to do with the solar storm going on right now. They say it's breaching earth's magnetic field right now, and is the biggest storm in 5 years.
I heard about that on the radio this morning. There is a stronger gravitational pull because of where the planets and moon are aligned today. This also happens when we enter into the summer equinox (I think it only lasts a few minutes in the summer).
I am not sure if the solar flares this morning have something to do with it also.
Never heard of that one before.
The one I hear about most is the balancing an egg on one end.
All of it's nonsense (you can balance these things any time of the year), but it's fun nonsense.
I must not have the right kind of broom.
I posted this Sunday, March 4th, and my broom stood or about 3-4 days. I babysat my grandson Monday (5th) and Tuesday (6th) and between him and the dogs it got knocked over a couple of times but I would just stand it up again and it stood there.
This works because the planets are alined and the combination of their gravitational pull makes this work. I got 2 hairbrushes to stand also. I tried the egg and it wouldn't work.
I contacted a friend in Maryland, So Caraloina, and Illnois and they couldn't get it to work. My cousin in So California got 2 of hers to stand also.
