Has anyone had a baby whose first teeth have bright yellow stains on them (BRIGHT yellow, not a dull pale yellow of plaque)?
Our 7-month old daughter got her two bottom front teeth early (about 6 months of age). A few weeks ago I noticed something bright yellow on one of them & figured it was somehow some pureed squash stuck there. We haven't been able to get it out though & today really tried to scrape it off when we realized it's just the color of the teeth. From what I read online, it could be a few different things including an underlying infection or heart disease!!!
I'm going to call her doctor on Tuesday, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, what it was, what you did, etc. . .

Tetracycline (an antibiotic) if taken during pregnancy can cause yellowing of the baby's teeth. Not sure if you or your child were exposed to anything like that?
Have you considered the amount of pre-natal fluoride in your local water supply? These teeth would have been affected prenatally, so what is happening now started long before the teeth erupted! Good luck!
Your dentist will be able to tell you more about what's going on with your daughter's teeth.
Excess flouride would cause white patches, not yellow. Yellow can be caused by an infection that she had or medicine she had to fight an infection.
None of these things should affect her permanent teeth.
my daughter had that for awhile when they were pretty brand new. Talked to our dentist and she said it was pretty normal. It just disappeared after awhile (and not that long, a few months I think)
My daughter had it as a baby! She got teeth at 3 months and had many ear infections so they gave her a stronger med which I was not told to wipe off her teeth (which you should do with all meds or thick foods) it's called calc? You need to call a dentist they wil scrap it off. Do it now or it could rot the teeth. We haven't had any issues with it since and she was my only child to get it. Good Luck

otherwise, just check with the doctor. if he or she seems mystified, find a dentist that will see younger babies.
I have not experienced this but I would most definately take her to the doctor. I would also make sure that they look for every possibility of what it could be. Make them work for their money. I really wish you the best of luck with this.

Do you have a lot of flouride in your water? Does she have formula with tap water? Just a thought, not sure if she is bottle or breast fed, but sometimes people have a lot of flouride in their water and it causes staining like this.
Not sure but thought of it.
