Any of you moms ever visited, lived there or vacationed there? I would love to hear about it, as we plan to visit there soon. I need all the recommendations I can get as far as VRBO or hotel suggestions, eateries, etc. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

ETA: Hubby has to travel here for work, and I have family on the east coast, so I figured we could make a fun trip out of it!

Not to knock any city but Bridgeport has some not so great areas so you might not want to wander around the city all that much. Having said that the Beardsley Zoo is great. The Barnum Museum is interesting but was damaged a while ago by a hurricane. I'm not sure if it's open again at this point because they didn't have a lot of money to work with.

Connecticut is such a small state that if you rent a car you can drive around the state to other places of interest.

I just returned from the east coast, and stayed up in Ridgefield, CT, on a pond/lake.

When I was researching the area, there were some great reviews about Mystic Seaport. We did not have time to go as it was 2.5 hours away. You are much closer in Bridgeport, and that's where I would take kids.

Otherwise the tour of Yale in New Haven is cool for older kids, but not on Monday's, as some of the best museums are closed then.

Bridgeport is a hole...... lol no offense.

Go to New Haven and visit Yale. Go to Old Saybrook and get a massage at the Inn. Take the Ferry to Long Island, they have a cute dock there.

heck, even take the train to Manhattan - it's like 25 minutes from Bridgeport.

Bridgeport - not much to say about Bridgeport. But I will tell you that Norwalk is less than a 1/2 hour away and has an awesome Aquarium and the Stepping Stones Museum. Both are awesome.

Mystic is about an hour+ away and has the famous seaport.

Have fun.
