Bridal Shower and Gifts

I would like to know if any of you have any ideas or alternatives for a bride and how she can open her gifts at her shower. I did hear about one idea where the bride goes to each table and opens the gifts at that particular table and moves on to the next. It seems a little more personal that way, too. The shower will have about 35 women and will be held at a restaurant. I would love to hear something new.

What can I do next?

In some cultures the bride opens the gift when the guest comes/presents it to them, much like a hostess would a hostess gift. I think it is personal and classy to greet your guest, accept the gift and then "Ohh and Ahh" over it right then. You can have a display table for the gifts once they have been opened. To be honest most people only want to see the face/reaction of their own gift being received and care little or not at all about the rest.

I went to a shower at which the bride sat in a swivel chair in the middle of the tables. As she opened the cards first, she swiveled around to face the giver. It made everything much more personal and was actually quite sweet.

Your way and Kristina's way sounds great. Just went to a big bridal shower last weekend and yes, they are boring, except for the bride. I would love to attend a shower where the bride goes table to table. That adds a nice personal touch.
