Breasts Look Great, but OUCH

Ok moms, I'm hoping someone can relate. It used to be that a few days before my period, my breasts would become slightly swollen and tender. The last several months, however, it is WAY worse. The only time they don't hurt is the first few days after my period, the other weeks they are incredibly tender and swollen. I finally fill out my bra, though! But seriously, they hurt a lot, I can't even sleep on my stomach.

There's no chance of pregnancy, I haven't breastfed for a decade. And I have just recently had my mammogram and ultrasound and everything was fine. I'm almost 40, so I'm wondering about perimenopause or something (my mom went through menopause rather early). I wonder if any of you have or had a similar experience and what it was. It definitely seems tied to my cycle, which is why I want to blame hormones or something. My annual check up with my gyn isn't until June, so I'm hoping to get some insight before then. Thanks!

What can I do next?

That sounds hormonal to me, too, but I don't have any insight as to why that might be happening.

Maybe you could make an appt before June (mention breast pain?).

You might want to call the dr and ask a few questions.

I had perky 34 C's after pregnacy. About 9 yrs ago, I had a complete hysterectomy at 40 and I went on an HRT patch.

Within months, my 34C's begans to gradually change. Mind you, I loved my new bigger perkier chest.

Now, almost 10 yrs later, I am a perky 34DD and enjoying every minute of it. I know people think I haad a boob job because I am 5'5", very petite and weigh in around 116#, size 2.

I love my hormone side effect. Ask your Dr., it could very well be hormonal.

Yup me too. Exactly. I read it's a sign of perimenopause, which I read is between 35 and fifty, its getting better now so I guess we keep changing

I just went to my gyn for this exact reason! She thought it was perimenipause too, but checked my hormones and they were normal. So, she wanted me to go on birth control pills to see if it helped. I declined bc I hate bc pills and she said to try exercise, vitamin D, and magnesium and see if I noticed any difference. This just happened, so I can't report if it will work yet, just thought I'd pass it along. Please post if you get more insight though--I'd be curious because they really do hurt!

When this started for me I did a lot of research. I found the answer in one of Christian Northrup's books. It is Estrogen domininace. Your hormone levels are beginning to drop and your progesterone is dropping faster than your estrogen. I use progesterone cream and it helps.

I would definitely recommend you reasearch the subject thouroughly and then find a good practitioner that works with hormone levels and can guide you through the process.
