Have any of you been a part of a breastfeeding support group or mommy group? We plan on breastfeeding and would really appreciate some recommended groups and resources. I know of La Leche League but a friend of mine said they actually weren't very helpful when it came to lactation consultants and groups.
You should check out La Leche League. There are many different groups in the area and every La Leche League group is different. I visited 3 different LLL groups in Denver before I found a good fit. Now I have a group that I love. Also, the LLL leaders are usually VERY good with breast feeding advice and support. Better than any lactation consultant I've ever met! They have a website. Good luck!
I was planning on going to a La Leche League meeting too. I would start there. Otherwise you could start one of your own! Me and my little girl would come religiously!

I would also check out the hospital where you plan on giving birth. Many hospitals offer breastfeeding classes and support groups.
