I don't remember as my youngest is now 11. I'd just remind you that their milk is still their primary source of nutrition at this age. Food doesn't really offer them nutrition, so infants should have their nursing/bottle first and then food.
Hi mamas,
I have 28 month old twins that I breastfed for the first 3 mo before switching to formula for various reasons. I am currently breastfeeding my 8 mo old daughter and supplementing (while working part time) with a bottle~ about 1x a day. So the baby gets one bottle a day and is eating 2-3 meals a day as well. She is a very good nurser and often nursed for comfort but lately due to being sooo busy I feel like she isn't nursing as often. I know with food nursing decreases but it seems like she isn't nursing more than 4 x's a day with maybe one bottle. She is growing well and no issues with the dr. worried about her wt. She has been crawling since 4.5 mo old and is a curious and active baby. I would just like to hear what other moms experienced with their little ones. My experience is so radically different with the twins! How many times did you BF when your baby was 8 mo old?! She was slow to take to solids but now is loving them! She is also teething hard core- eye teeth which was initially responsible for the decrease in comfort nursing and now she doesn't seem to need to nurse for comfort any more.
Thanks for your help!!!

I think I was doing 5 feedings at that age with my son. My daughter is 6 months now, and is also at 5 feedings. They do tend to get more curious and feeding can get in the way. Try a nursing necklace or something similar to keep her focused while nursing.
I fed my 8 month old still about every 3 to 4 hours at least during the day. I pumped while at work so had my daycare provider give him 4 oz. every 3 hours or so. That way it kept it consistent for me on the weekends when he strictly breastfed. I always breastfed first before giving the solids or had the daycare provider give the bottle first. Hope this helps.
By the time my daughter was 8 months old, she was nursing 4 times daily and went down to 3 times daily by 10 months. 4 times a day plus a bottle seems like plenty to me, especially since she's growing just fine. Don't worry about it and she'll let you know when she's thirsty.
