A.P.
I like Cameron in comparison to the others you suggested. Think about how Camree (toyota camry) will be teased about her name growing up.
Ok so my husband and I are having a hard time agreeing on a Boy name, if we have a boy. OK, so I am having a hard time agreeing with him one a name. We are going with a "C" name. For a girl it will be Camree (don't know a middle name) and for a boy he is DEAD SET on Cameron Michael. I love the name Cameron, but it is so common. I like different names. I have tried to get him to like Coy, Cael, and Cain. But he is stuck on Cameron. No matter what boy name we choose, the middle name will be Michael. And he already has a son named Caleb, so that one is ofcourse out. Does anyone else have any cute boy "C" boy names my husband may take to??? LOL
Ok... I will have to agree with the mom that said I will probably end up with a Cameron Michael. My husband has always loved that name and has always got out voted so, I will probably give in. LOL! I might just have to spell it different!
I did read him all the names everyone came up with and he was still DEAD SET! We can't have a Cade- 2 good friends kids; Corbin- nephew; Chase- good friend kid; Carson- cousin and a niece; Collin- TONS around here, Caden- 4 friends kids; Conner- cousins name. So it is hard to come up with something different. Pretty much the whole family has done c's or K's! LOL Thanks for the help!!

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about how common it is. I'm a M., circa 1970, and there were tons of Michelles in my classes growing up. It really wasn't a big deal. I wouldn't let that be the deciding factor -- I'd go with more of how you feel about the name personally. If you really don't like the sound of the name or have a bad association with it, then I would definitely make a case for something else.
I will give you mine that I didn't get to use...I wanted to use it so bad w/my last child if it was a boy, but I had a girl instead!
Cash...we were going to go with Cash Thomas...but Cash Michael is cute too!
* I always loved Cole and we also threw around Kain but my DH wouldn't go for it either:) I LOVE the name "Coup" but its not a real name...it's short for Cooper and there were just WAY too many for me to name my child that...but boy did I want a Coup...naming was always the hardest part of having babies for me, good luck!
BTW- I love Cameron...I think it is very cute, and I do already know of one but he just graduated HS and his parents call him "Cam"
Cole? Conner? Christian?
Other cute C names are Corbett, Cade, Cohen, Caden, Conner and Cooper.
Though if you love Cameron and it has meaning to you more than just being trendy, I say use it! Pick the name you both like best and that has some meaning so you can tell your child the importance of why that names was chosen for them. Another good idea is to go over the family tree and look for C names, even maiden names that may have more meaning and make an awesome first name for your baby blessing.
Best wishes!
I have nephews named Christian and Cannon. Both sound nice with Michael. I also like Coy Michael and Cameron Michael, though you are right that Cameron is very common right now.
Here's a suggestion - my husband's cousin used it to name her twin boys since their last name is Smith. Check out the phone book! She picked out two LAST names she liked from the phone book!
Just read your what happened post - I think Cameron Michael is a great name. We named our son Colin Michael - my husband wanted it - once Colin got here and we named him that I can't think of any name that would have been better so I am sure once the baby gets here and y'all name him - you will love the name!! Also, one little piece of advice - I wouldn't spell his name different - he will have a hard time his whole life correcting people on how to spell it and it will get messed up on medical records and all sorts of stuff like that. It really will make his life easier I promise. My parents named me Meleesa - because they couldn't decide on M. or Lisa - and I am 36 and haven't forgiven them - just kidding - but it has been a real pain my whole life - Really! First day of school no one could ever say my name right. I have like three different medical records because people dont enter it right at the hospital - at the drug store I have multiple accounts for the same reason. It is sooo annoying - half the time I just tell people my name is M. - for example if I am at a store trying on clothes and they ask my name - it really is easier. Anyway, when we named our son Colin I got on the Social Security name website and looked up the most common spelling for Colin and spelled it that way - just to make it easier for him in the long run. I really think Cameron is a special name that is not overused so no need to change the spelling. Hope this helps you a little - didn't mean to get off on my soapbox - I guess I really haven't forgiven my parents for being creative :)!!!
Collin or Cade are cute. ;)
I have always loved the name Callum. I had girls so I didn't get to use it.
Colby- I like Cain/Cane Chase Cayden OOPS now I have brain freeze... I'll have to keep thinking and get back with you
I also like different names. I especially like little boy names for little girls so if I would have had a girl it would have actually been Camryn. Perhaps you can use the spelling we were going to use to make it a little different. We did that with our first child and spelt his name Gavyn instead of with an i or e. And I only know a couple of Cameron's too so I don't think it's as common anymore.
If you don't want a name everyone is starting to use mark Cash and Carter off of your list. In the last year we have had 6 Cash and 5 Carter's in the baby room or friends have used the names.
My 5 year old is Cameron and I have only met a couple of other Cameron boys...there are some girls, but I LOVE the name for a boy and still do :). It's not as common as you would think. I have heard a lot more Cain's and Caden's (spelled a million different ways) than anything else. Go with a name you both love and don't worry about how common it is or other opinions.
Can't believe my favorite name isn't listed here yet! lol. My husband didn't like it because it was too "weird" for him. We ended up with regular names that weren't so common. Neither son has had anyone in their classes so far with the same name. Anyway...... I always liked Corbin. I have liked this name every since the movie The Fifth Element Came out. Bruce Willis' characters name was Corbin Dallas. lol
Cash, Cade, Cale, Cooper, Christopher, Clay, Chase
My sons name is Carson and we have not met any other Carson's out there yet. It is not to common but still easy to pronounce and not to out there.
Sorry if its a repeat, I haven't had time to read all the other responses. How about Camden?? Its not overly popular, but is similar to Cameron :)
my sons name is coalton. but I bet you wind up with camereon. you will agree to it at the last minute. me and my other half were divided between brandon and storm on my youngest and after 20 hrs of labor induced at that and then he was out in five minutes he walked up and said we have to call him storm he came in like a storm. :) I bet you agree to camereon at the last minute for reasons of your own.
