Boy Clothes

Hello Ladies,
This question especially goes out there to moms with Boys. I am a bit burned out on the same old stuff dinosaurs, sports or trucks etc. for my little ones clothes. Is there any store out there that you know of with a bit more variety for boys? I am envious of the little girls section in all the dept. stores which are always 3 times bigger than the boys section. and then you even have the girl only stores like limited too or girly girls. I have looked around on line and found a few cute things but the prices were outrages . I am no millionaire and find it pretty hard to grasp buying a 85 dollar boys hoodie for a almost 3 yr old. If you can suggest any thing or anywhere to look let me know . Thank you !!!

PS. If I was a millionaire I would be the first to open a boys only store.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thanks to everyone for all the ideals for places to shop. Old Navy seemed to be the best in deals and still cute clothes that are not too cutsie for my little guy .
While surfing the net there were a few online stores/brands I wanted to share,
Knuckleheads (a bit pricey), trendy tadpole, Nina & Tom, baby rock apparel all cool online places that have links to additional cool sites to view (all are .com)

Hi A.,
I have two grandsons that I shop for and I love the Pumpkin Patch Stores; there's one at Paradise Valley Mall and Chandler Mall. Inexpensive and very cute...also, I have found sleepers for as little as $1.99 at the Disney store when they have their sales at the end of a season.

Have fun!

I bought a bunch of vintage t-shirts just a few weeks ago at Macy's and Nordstroms...if you buy during thier sales the prices are down around $5- $15...they had a huge selection of ones that weren't for sale and they ran about $25, still not too bad, just not cheap enough for something they will soon grow out of! The other places I have shopped is the Carters store at Desert Ridge Marketplace...thier big boy section is all stripes and plaids, very cute stuff for reasonable prices and they are actually running a sale on all their summer stuff right now. Hope that helps.

Hi A.-
My son is 4 and I have always shopped at Gap (it fits him the best) or Old Navy..If you shop when there is a sale you are bound to get a lot of cute stuff for cheaper ??? I am very picky with my sons and daughters clothes both so I LOVE both of these stores..
Good luck on the millionaire part :)

A. - Although I dont have boys, I do have a 4 1/2 year old daughter, and I run in to somewhat of the same problem. Most clothes for her age/size are babyish with flowers and things like that, which you would normally dress a 2-year old in. I started looking to other places as well becuase I wanted something a little different than what they sell at Mervyns, Kohls, Old Navy, etc. I dont know what area you are in, but Arizona Mills in Tempe has alot of outlet stores for kids. They have Gymboree, The Childrens Place, Gap, Osh Kosh, Carters, and a place called Kids Supercenter. The Kids Supercenter is located right next to the Rainforest Cafe and they have name brands that you would normally find at Macy's but at 1/2 (or sometimes more) off the regular price. They carry Guess and Rocawear, etc. My daughter and I (although we live very far from there) take a trip out there about twice a year to visit the Rainforest Cafe and to get clothes for her when I have to buy quite a few outfits at once. Good luck !!!

I hear you! I have girl clothes envy. My son is 13 months and I'm not into the dinosaur thing either. I usually do my shopping at Target (they've gotten better). They got a selection of cute little sayings on shirts (The "I do my own stunts" is my favorite). Sometimes going to second hand baby stores you can find a variety. It's tough though when that cute little sunflower dress is staring you in the face and you've bought your 16th truck and car shirt. Let me know if you find a place.

Alas, I have often made the exact same complaints! I don't know what to tell you except that I hear you, and I want a piece of the store when you do open it!!

My son was 3 in December and I really like Gymboree for his wardrobe. If you sign up on line at Gymboree.com they will email you coupons and sale info. They also have "Gymbucks" several times a year where you earn Gymbucks by purchases and can use them for 50% off in the future. Hope this helps!

I have two boys 3yrs and 20 months and I too dislike the theme clothes. Though its hit and miss; Marshalls carries the Ralph Lauren children's line and there are great shirts for 10-15 dollars. The best is the quality lasts far longer than Old Navy so I can pass the outfit down from one to the other. Gymboree sales are great as well.

Hi A.!
I feel the same way!!! According to my mom though it has improved greatly since my bro was little. Thats a SAD thought!! Carter's IS cute, but the look tends to be the same. We love The Childrens Place. The prices are reaonable and the items wear well. Old Navy/Gap is another favorite although i'm sure you know all about those stores.(just a note but be sure to go to the back of these store/end isles. there are clearance clothes here usually.) When we lived in St louis we lived close to an outlet mall and they had a Nautica store, totally cute clothes! If it wasn't an outlet, however their would have been no way you would have seen us there!

Hi,
There is an awesome store in Glendale called Other Mothers. I think it's at 67th and Peoria. They have great second hand clothes and I'm really picky, You can also turn in the clothes your child has outgrown for credit. Highly recommend this place!
E-bay is also a great place for getting lots of the expensive clothes way cheaper. I do a lot of my boy shopping on there for exactly the reasons you mentioned. Too little choice and too high cost. Hope this helps

There is a store at anthem outlet mall called Naartje (or something like that). They have great boys clothes (lots of surfer looking stuff) at reasonable prices since it is an outlet.
