Little Boys' Dress Clothes

Don't get me wrong, I love little girls and all the cute clothes there are out there for them, and it's lucky I don't have a girl or we'd truly be broke, lol. But I'm so frustrated with the lack of cute boys' clothes options! Especially for dressy clothes. I walk into JCP and see like 15 adorable styles of dressy dresses for girls, and 2 little boring suits for boys. We're finally baptizing our son next month (he's nearly 2 years old), and I want him to wear a nice dressy outfit, but not one of those ridiculously expensive white satin ones. Where do you all find nice dress up clothes for your toddler boys that won't break the bank? He's a skinny kid, and wears anywhere from 18m to 2T at this point. Thanks for your help?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the hints, keep them coming! I hadn't looked at Macy's because I figured they would be too expensive, but they've got CUTE stuff, and it's on sale!! I'm probably gonna order something online, because you can return it in the store if it doesn't work out. Yeah! I knew I could count on you ladies!

HINT:

We have a funeral today, so bought out son one of those 2 suits (the pinstripe one) at JCP yesterday. And then walked through Nordstroms towards the shoe store, and saw at least a DOZEN boys' suits, in various styles, for $15 less than JCP.

Yup.

And that's with the N suits being full price, and the JCP ones on sale.

Headsmack!

I think your in luck... it seems like all the stores have just put their Christmas clothes out. I've seen cute stuff at Kohls, Macys, even Children's Place. If you have a department store you use, get your coupon and I'm sure you'll find something.

Totally agree with you on the balance of girl clothes to boy clothes!

I always find nice little dress pants, button-down shirts, cute little boy sweaters at GAP or Gymboree.

Search consignment shops.

You can get NICE suits for boys at them.

I bought my oldest a three piece suit in September from the one close to us for 9 bucks. It came with pants, Jacket, Vest, shirt and tie.

I have always hated not being able to find cute clothes for my kiddo's...The places that DO carrying them are EXPENSIVE! So even if I had the money to buy brand new I wouldn't.

It may take some Patience but it is the least expensive way to buy them...and it is the best variety:) And normally they have only been worn buy the original owner once or twice:)

Sounds like you found something but - I got my son a white button down shirt and navy pants from The Children's Place for his baptism. He looked adorable. Oh, and I found them at the outlet store so I didn't spend a lot.

I've shopped at Crazy 8, they are owned by Gymboree (like what Old Navy is to the GAP). If you have one of those around, they have adorable stuff that is less expensive than Gymboree.

Hi S.,

You might try Once Upon A Child -- www.ouac.com. There's one at Foster and Harlem. I buy a lot of my kids' clothes there, and last time I was there shopping for my son, I saw a lot of cute dress clothes in sizes 18 and 24 mos. I think those types of clothes don't get worn very much, so people sell a lot of them to OUAC. Good luck!

I recently got a flyer from The Children's Place with boys baptismal outfits featured on it. Maybe try them in the store or online? Usually children's specialty stores have nice options for baptisms as well.

Have you looked at Target or Babies R Us? Or Macy's? http://www1.macys.com/shop/kids/featured/dressed-up/boys/...

(And bear in mind that cute does not = practical. Last Easter I had a bear of a time finding something that looked good on DD, fit well, and didn't have scratchy fluff attached to make her look like a walking cupcake.)

If you buy now, you can get dressy holiday stuff from Old Navy that might suit your needs, and not break the bank.

Well, as long as you are still in the "T"s, I found some super cute stuff on
http://thechildrenswearoutlet.com/toddler-boy/fall-and-wi...

Unfortunately, there really isn't much out there for dressy boy clothes. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old and I do the best I can, and then buy myself a dress!

If you can afford it, this site has some really cute stuff but it is out of my price range: http://www.bestdressedchild.com/eton-suits-boys.html#top

Maybe someone else will have better ideas and help us out too! I do feel your pain - I would love to be able to buy my boys some cute clothes that weren't an exact miniature of what their 34 year old Daddy wears!!!

Were broke and when I need a nice outfit my first stop is Target, if nothing then The Childrens Place then Sears or Bells. (not sure if Bells is located in Chicago but its the same type clothes that Sears has.) Our old navy went out and I actually did not buy much from them as they did not have much dressy things and there prices were more than I wanted to pay for the quality.
